Pa1000 Replacement or Successor !!!

Post by Shawn »

Hello All,
I know this subject might have already come up in the past but does anyone know anything about the PA1000 successor. Pa5x is just too heavy to log around.

Thank you and best regards,
Shawn

Missing semiconductors (lack of chips) not only cause underutilized plants in the auto industry, but also affect every industry that needs semiconductors for their products.

According to a study, this shortage will continue at least until 2025. This also applies to the production of the consumer electronics and entertainment industry, so there is no question of a replacement or a successor to the Pa1000.

Since hardware from the same platform as the Pa5x was installed in the Pa1000 (Sitara SoC modules from Texas Instruments), also the question of replacing the Pa1000 is less important than a corresponding software update, where the performance of the installed SoC ( Sitara AM-5718) would be taken into account.

It's really annoying that Korg is apparently unwilling to finally deliver an update to the well-equipped Pa1000, which is long overdue and seems this product group no longer exists for Korg.

PS: Pa5x is equipped with the Sitara AM-5728, which is more powerful because of a dual dual kernel processor and a dual DSP setup.
kind regards

.
Yes I have been wondering about this as well as I am really surprised we don't have a "NEXT" OS version also for the Pa1000 as I am sure that it's in the MG version of the Pa1000?

The MG editions traded in Mideast/Africa/Indian seem to have relatively little in common with Korg, but to be an independent production that cannot be compared with the editions of Pa1000 traded in Europe and Northamerica.

I have no infos about Pa1000 MG version. It seems to be a special local edition of KORG Music Gear Lebanon. I also have no knowledge of where the hardware and software for this local edition is produced and what would be extended features and software of it.

As of August, 20, 2021 Korg's homepage shows in her corporate profile Japan as Head Office, six subsidiaries and a number of 290 employees.

Subsidiaries: KORG U.S.A. Inc., KORG (UK) Limited, KORG Italy S.p.A, KORG HK Ltd. (HongKong), KORGTECH INC. (Japan), KORG Vietnam LTD.
And there is a list of distributors MidEast/Africa/India, Asia/Pacific, Europe, LatinAmerica/Caribbean and NorthAmerica without a location Lebanon.

Sorry to find no more reliable informations.
kind regards
