Good morning
I’m finding the Korg PS3 foot switch too small and too light and is very unstable on carpet.
As I don’t use my Korg DS1H damper pedal I tried that in the ‘assignable’ socket and after choosing ‘keyboard set - up’, it works a treat.
Only doubt in my mind is that I’ve noticed the the damper/PS2 Jack plugs are different (mono/stereo?) so, question is, will it be safe to continue or could it cause any damage?
Thanks
Bob
PS I e tried a EC5 and didn’t get on with it….

Await another answer to corroborate this - as I am not an electrical engineer.
In short I don't believe you can damage your unit in this way. The PS2 is a simple ON/OFF switch, whereas the DS1H is a damper. It works as a rheostat (variable signal) much like a dimmer switch in your home. My guess is, it uses the stereo output to accomplish this variability.
When plugged in to a Mono Input the Ring portion of the Stereo Plug (TRS = Tip Ring Sleeve) wouldn't be making contact with an applicable connector and would serve no purpose.
