volume in combi mode randomly drops

Post by ElevenPhingahz »

In combi mode volume channel one drops to 4 randomly for no reason, is there a fix for this? I connected a yamaha volume pedal recently & that's when the mischief began but not sure if the two are related or not.I removed the yamaha pedal & re-attached the roland EV-5 & it's still doing it, I feel like something got triggered with the Yamaha pedal... weird.
Thanks for any help [-o<

Try moving Timbre 1 volume fader up and relaoding the Combi. It's possible that the pot has become slightly noisy and the Kronos is picking this up as a fader movement. Changing control movement behaviour to "Catch" in the Global settings may also get round the issue.

could be a hanging midi message from pedals

give the pedal a few firm presses.

if no change, disconnect pedals.

re-boot without pedals

see if that isolated the volume glitch

GregC,
Thanks for the response. I gave the pedal several firm presses, no dice. I disconnected the pedals & fired up the Kronos minus pedals and multi volume#1 still drops.

any particular combi ?

or just any,,, and random volume drop ?

and does the proper volume suddenly return ?

or is the decreased volume permanent on midi channel 1 ?

Custom combi where #1 is EP with the usual suspects controlled by the volume pedal (strings, organ, brass, etc). I've always had it set up like this for years with no issues, this is the first time and it started when I used the Yamaha volume pedal because it has a smoother throw (I was using the Roland EV-5 but it always stair stepped the flow of the sweep).
For now I moved the EP to another channel while I figure out the mysterious #1.

The decreased volume does not return, you have to manually fix. Would not be good in a live setting.

last try- maybe reset your Global Controller settings. Make sure you write/save

also do the same with midi filters , for channel 1 in your custom combi.

I already tried that but thanks. :)
I think moving the EP to another channel may be the fix.
