Bundling songs into files vs resource utilization

Post by Dumoulip »

Hey everyone,

Hope everyone is staying safe! Isolation is ironically giving me a chance to delve into my kronos. I’ve been creating songs with audio tracks as backing tracks and pre-recorded stuff. I use them to supplement my band’s sound and to actually replace certain members who are absent at certain jams, getting the drummer to play along to an isolated click track for all the queues to come in on time. I have gotten into the habit of saving several songs into the same file. I’m wondering why I wouldn’t just save ALL songs in the same file, but, then figured I’d need to hit some sort of balance, since the Kronos has 60gb of solid state drive space vs 3gb of ram. My songs have anywhere from 4 to 12 audio tracks and the WAV format is not compressed. My question is, does anyone have any tips on what the scope of song files should be? Any advantages to saving individual songs? Do some of you routinely bundle songs into fa single file covering a setlist? How can i keep an eye on file size so that i know when to split them up? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, thanks so much!
