Since a few weeks I've connected a Motif Rack XS to my PA4X and I must say I really LOVE the arpeggiated sounds that are in it (next to loads of other sounds in the unit BTW).
They blend very well with (lots of) the PA4X sounds. I've MIDI'd it to my UP3 only, but that alone gives so much extra flavour to my sound library.
I really would love to see a dedicated sound arpeggiator in the future PA5X!
In an earlier thread somebody said you could reach the arpeggiated effect also with LFO programming, which in fact has been done with some of the PA4X factory sounds.
But I find that quite complex.
The arpeggiator in the KAOS feature of course is great, but I don't use it very often, because in live playing I find it difficult to switch and push the right buttons.
Now with the Motif XS, I can just save an arpeggiated sound in UP3, and save it as a KBD SET or an STS in Songbook.
Works like a charm.

I've played a few rough demos (not mixed etcetera) just to get the idea.
Direct recording to MP3 from PA4X (and the XS).

I know, and use it all the time, but pads connect to the style pattern.korg1 wrote:You can use pads for Arpezziator patterns
With the XS arps you can connect directly to the sound you're playing.
So it follows your RH instead of your chords.
The XS is set up as slave to the PA4x (it follows PA4X's internal clock).
