Pa4x pre purchase questions

Hi everyone just a couple questions I used to have a PA3x which was extremely reliable just concerned about the reliability of the 4x due to some posts I've read with common issues also is the oriental version the best for balkan music. Or is the Kronos a smarter buy sorry if it's been covered before just really not sure I have a Kurzweil as my main studio board this will be for studio and gigging[/list]

About your question.-
First, although PA4X had some issues (on version 3.1), you can go for it with your eyes closed, it's really the best arranger on the marked, and it's reliable for live (OS 2.2 is stable).-
Secong, as you are a PA3x user, that relieves me from any convenience or smarter buying a Kronos instead of a PA4x; are different keyboards, kronos is a workstation (the most powerfull ever made) and PA4x is an arranger with some capabilities like a workstation (this doesn't convert it on a workstation).-
Kronos is more powerfull than Kurzweill, so It would clearly be unfair any comparission.- Don't matter how do you use it, on gig or on studio, Kronos is the best.- I'm a Korg user for last 20 years, and korg keyboards are reliable for live or studio, specially these ones (PA4x and Kronos) flagships.-

Ideally I would like to buy both seems like they compliment each other nicely, if I order the pa4x won't it come with the new os version? Can you safely without damaging the pa4 install an older os version. Also the fact that the pa4x has heaps of resources available for balkan music where as the Kronos has limited balkan based sample libraries makes the pa4 more suitable to my situation

Unless the PA4X you buy is the very latest shipment of stock, I very much doubt it will have OS3.1 installed - YES, you can re-install OS 2.x - fully supported and documented in the Korg update documentation.
