That could hardy be called „something big“.
Normally Korg has not been wasting superlatives without reason (unlike other companies).

The country distributor does not manufacture and/or assemble new product.tatun2010 wrote:The (Australia only) makes me think thay they wont release a Kronos sucesor nor a big update
agree with your point. As some have commented on why.
Here's 1 reason( of many). Korg Japans priority is selling new product.
Anyway, the grand stage(GS) and LS qualify as ' new '. Keyboard players are fickle, demanding. Discretionary.
If Korg pre-announced a new W/s, K2 sales would slow to a crawl.
Thats an easy prediction.
More so, such an announcement would also slow sales of the new iterations, such as the GS and LS. Why ? Potential customers would expect and wait for further iterations/off shoots of any new W/s.
Assumption/Conclusion: Korg would not distract potential buyers from the GS and LS. Or create internal competition within their product families.
Its business as usual this year.
Saying Big Korg News on a Instagram is flimsy and a bubble in 1 country. They are a distributor for Korg . It appears to be a sales promotion. Right. Thats what they do.
The distributor does not assemble or manufacture any new product.
This should be obvious.
I am not a fan of these skimpy marketing tease 'announcements'.

A new workstation might not necessarily be to replace an existing model. It could be a higher spec’d model costing, for example, twice the price of the current model but of course offering superior quality design, latest electronics/motherboard, greater ram, larger touch screen etc.
The current model would continue to offer a cost effective solution to those with a limited budget but wanting a great product for their requirements.
It’s like the difference between an iPhone 8 and an iPhone X. the IPhone X is a premium spec’d phone with greater capability than the iPhone 8, however, they can both be used to make phone calls.
There are thousands of baby boomers who could afford a very high spec’d new Korg Work Station. I paid $10k for an Oasys in 2005, in 2011, I paid $3,500 for a Kronos.
Regards
Billy

But the board has to be worth the high price tag for a purchase. That applies
to any thing silly expensive.
There are no lease options or 30 yr payment plans on keyboards

Re: Big news from Korg
Apparently it's going to be a DIY board for hacking the Prologue synth.

It can be boring for some people when they have the best workstation in the world it is like I have money to burn what I can buy and is better than Kronos hmm nothing there so of course if new ! workstation comes out with better screen polyphony ect we will buy not to do better music but because we can .
Thing is no proper company will discontinue product which sells as hot cake or put new model for sake of it so enjoy your Kronos nothing is coming you already have the best workstation .
