PA300
I know how to record a complete performance using the sequencer, record facility.
What I'd like to do is record say a chord progression, save it, and then play over the top live.
I guess I'm really saying I'd like to create my own backing tracks, record and save them within the Korg. Then build on them by recording new tracks and finally playing over the top live.
At present I'm using purchased MP3 backing tracks, putting them on a USB stick and playing them back, while playing the melody (or whatever) on the keyboard.
I've found that I can record and save a backing, but the players keyboard is dead when its played back.
Any help or advice if what I want is possible greatly appreciated.

I dont know if i understand it exacly what u said but you can use Sequencer's "Quick Record" feature to record a "midi song". Then save it to USB or HDD and the in "play mode" you can playback the file and play along with a piano for example(in full keyboard mode). You cant change cord progresion (like a normal style), only to folow the melodic line.

Recording a backing track
Thank you angelitto. It makes sense what you've written, and I have created backing tracks using the keyboard, then after converting to MP3 format copied to an external USB stick and played them back via the in built keyboard MP3 player. Which, as you correctly say, enables me to do what ever I want over the top of it.
However, that does mean the backing is converted to MP3 whereas the original (created on the PA300) is a high quality WAV file.
Also, it would be good to keep the backing 'in house' on the Korg. (less externals, the less to go wrong or to lose) !
It seems the method I'm using and that which you suggest is the only option though.

If you have already created midi on Korg, you don't need to converting to mp3, you can play as midi with original quality, midi file giving you much more option for performing, like store lyrics, markers etc.
As internal vs. external file, keep both and use internal, is always better for Korg read internal file, especially if you using songbook.

That's one of the things I like to do. Add a bass part or drums, or a synth part from a style.joned wrote:PA300

I use it as part of a DAW computer recording system.
No limit to what you can do with the combination of the two.
Very easy to get into now days.

I used to play MP3 backing tracks and create stuff over the top on the Korg. But I always found most purchased downloaded MP3 tracks lacking that 'something' compared to the crisp clear sound of the Korg.
Hence my quest to use the keyboard for both backing and melody.
