Kronos banks going NUTS !

Post by EQula »

Hi guys,
I don't know what's going on, all the banks become unorganized like crazy
And I've tried to load Preload PCG but still not working, the dialog says it's created for older version so try remap the banks ?
My software is the latest one 3.0.3

No he is talking about the firmware update 1.8 that was different from the OS 3.03. You can find the update from Korg or look at where you downloaded the OS 3.03 but not sure that is the problem but i would try that first. Good luck and let us know the results. Or possibly try to download the 3.03 again.

Yes, they are separate updates. Check here to get the info. http://www.korg.com/us/support/ Be sure and read the instructions and follow exactly. First check that the update is for your generation of Kronos.

Try doing Factory Preload alone, without any others to start with. See if that brings some semblance of order. Or there's PCG tools, which allow you to get a better idea of what's going on.

Well, there's only two choices, right? Try one, see if it works. If not, try it again and chose the other. :)

In your case, if you have Kronos 1 or X model – try not to use this remapping function – that means press No for prompted question regarding remapping references!

How to check which PCG version you have loaded ? –here you have simple advice :
PCG from Kronos 1 and X can be recognized quickly by selecting program Int-A 000 ; if in this position you have „ Kronos German Grand ”– this means you have classic PCG. So in such case, when trying to load any PCG – always press No.

System 3.0.3 may be installed on all Kronoses, but it seem not to be able to recognized if it is installed on Kronos 2 or on older Kronos models , hence we have this problem.

Kronos 1 & Kronos X users , before upgrading to OS v.3 must always save their latest PCG file under previous OS for future troubleshooting !
After updating to latest OS they also have to immediately save the same PCG file under OS v.3 that will also save OS v.3 PCG signature
and whenever they try to load it , system will never ask them to re-map resources !
As I wrote in another topic , PCG source code contains only the OS signature and not your Kronos model , therefore OS v.3 signature in a
PCG file is evaluated as Kronos 2 !

EQula load PRELOAD.PCG (photo) or better your latest PCG file before upgrading to OS v.3 with "No" option
and then save that PCG under your latest OS.
