Kronos Screen washed out in sunlight

Post by cloydmello »

Heya Friends,

Yesterday, I used my Kronos X61 at church for the good friday service and it was held on the grounds in the afternoon at 3pm. this was the first time that i used it during the day in direct sunlight. other gigs and events have always been at covered venues at whatever time of the day.
It was really difficult for me to see the screen as it was completely washed out by the sunlight. i had to strain my eyes and maneuver the screen from memory and wat little bit i could see...

So, here is the question... Any useful tips or suggestions i could try the next time i have an open air gig in broad daylight... What do you all do in a situation like this... I know the Kronos doesnt have an official display out port on the rear panel so i cant plug in another screen but what else could I do the next time...

Thanks,
Cloyd.

I made a small triangular masonite shield that blocks out the sunlight - PM me an email address and I'll send you a picture...

I have an improvised folded cardboard sunshield that I simply gaffa on to the keyboard for the occasional outdoor gigs we do.

Polarized sunglasses. Seems to work for iPads, maybe Kronos too.
