Combining keyboards
Hi there. I just bought a Korg Microstation. I love it except for the mini keys. I also have a Yamaha MM8. Can I connect the two? Where can I go to get info on how to make the connections and how to control them based on how they are connected. I can't find any info to help a newbie like me.
simple answer yes, (to play on mm6 keyboard, using microstation sounds)connect midi cable from out on mm6 to in on the microstation. obviously have audio connected to microstation for this test.
After that need to look up in manual of both keyboards (mm6 especially on how to control external keyboard using midi etc)[/list]

It should just work. I've connected my microStation to a Yamaha Motif8 using a midi cable as suggested by lostchild (midi out of Motif8 to the midi in of the microStation) and it just worked (out-of-box configurations on both keyboards).
If it doesn't, *then* you'll have to dig into the manuals to figure out how to configure the MIDI setup on each keyboard.
Good Luck!
Bill.
