Kronos need a Octave change + - control switches
hi in korg there is no octave + - controll switches, it is difficult to vst Programmers, some of the vst assignble keys r below c1 n above c6, lack of this octave control taking some time to mange.....however find all these draw backs n fullfill in coming products n versions plzzzzzzz.. kronos is an awesome gear
Go to the controllers page in PROG mode.
You can set the SW1 and SW2 controllers over the joystick to control the Octave.
Regards
Sharp.

Agree, octave +/- buttons (or some shortcut key command) would be very very useful.christyjk wrote:hi in korg there is no octave + - controll switches, it is difficult to vst Programmers, some of the vst assignble keys r below c1 n above c6, lack of this octave control taking some time to mange.....however find all these draw backs n fullfill in coming products n versions plzzzzzzz.. kronos is an awesome gear
I am quite sure it's possible to implement it in the software.

Yes, but it's on a per program level, plus that you're removing any other assignments previously porgrammed for the SW1 and SW2.Sharp wrote:Go to the controllers page in PROG mode.

I understand.
How about using the EXT button controls and setting a CC value in Global mode that tells the HOST or VSTi to switch up/down an octave ?
Would that do the trick ?

Far as I know it's not possible to set a global Octave up/down that controls the KRONOS itself, but you can assign the Pads or any controller to transmit a CC value that can tell the HOST or VSTi the Switching information it would need to go up / down an octave.curvebender wrote:Sharp (or anyone else),
Would it be possible to program two pads on the nanoPAD to act as +/- octave switches?..
It all hinges on the HOST / VSTi though.

if you want to use transpose in your daw for VSTI's you could use the EXT function of the Kronos, there you assign 2 knobs to a CC (for instance CC95 and CC96) and in your DAW you assign CC95 and CC96 to transpose 12 down and transpose 12 up.
If your DAW supports this, then this would be a nice solution for working with VST's or quickly change the Transpose of a channel. I know that this can be done in Logic and Cubase. Probably the other DAW's have something comparable.

It's funny, but when I sit down in front of my 61 (I had a 73 before), I find that most programs suit me better if I transpose them one octave down. Personal taste I suppose..
Now, obviously, this can easily be fixed by transposing the Kronos one octave down in the Global pages, no problem.
But then another problem occurs:all the pre-programmed chords are also transposed one octave down!
So close...
