Karma arps suck

Post by Hexfix93 »

Can you make them sound like a real arp. It sounds weird to me, i connot make it do like a real arp, it sounds wrong to me for some way. I have to figure it out, the presets don't do arps the way i like.

There is a page somewhere in Karma-Labs that describes how to get KARMA to behave like a Triton ARP.
I've just looked at the site but couldn't find it, however it's there somewhere as I've read about and used the technique myself ...

Check out:

http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/karma2:how ... peggiators

Of course if you get the software you can just import any Midi based patterns/arp's into the Kronos via the software and use KARMA to tweak away on your favorite ARP patterns ... or just play them straight ...

Line 6 Flextone XL / Line 6 POD XT / Roland V Bass / Ampeg Portabass & Cab / Assorted Guitars (no whammy bar) ... and a Fender Champ ...

You need the Karma Editor for Kronos which is a further purchase and only available at Karma Labs.

I got the OASYS Karma Editor - it can edit every single aspect of GEs (Generated Effects), which can only be edited in a limited way on board the Kronos.

Because it is so powerful, the Karma Editor represents quite a steep learning curve.

Are you sure you've gone through all the Karma GEs on the Kronos? There are quite a few arp-type pattenrs onboard.

You could also play your arp pattern into the sequencer and have it loop.

You could also experiment with RPPR (one pattern assigned to one note).

Also, if you use the Polysix engine, there's a good old fashioned arp on that :)

Yes, you can get the Fx! You have to use the 'Copy from Program' routine that's on the dropdown (top right of screen) on the opening Seq page.

You are asked which track to import the sound into and you're also asked about the Fx options you want as well.

Try it!

Please can you describe what it is you want to do ARP-wise?
If you can say what you are after then that will help someone to answer you more specifically ... and there's no shortage of answers ... or answerers

I thought of getting the Karma Editor, but Stephen Kay seems to want my life history for me to order it. When I bought the Kronos, I just gave them the money and left the store. Same when I buy software at the same location. They didn't want all this info. So why does SK need to know this? He can keep his editor and I'll keep the money.

Like arp up mode, 3 octaves setting like on a virus, or arp up 4 octaves. simple, this is not in there and it doesnt sound right when it gets close.

it's in there, just watch the tutorials and read the wiki pages.

You have the kronos just one day, it's impossible to learn these kind of things within minutes.

You don't need the software for this.

Agreed QR - octave up is doable without the editor (but needs a bit of time to understand what's going on)

yes, it's karma GE 002 Arp Model 03 up

really, hexfix should watch my first tutorial for beginners to get some understanding of the uttermost basic concepts of working with KARMA. I know exactly what's he doing wrong, but all the info is already on this forum.

so here is the first tutorial for that, it covers the basic arp up and a couple of the basic settings you need to do.

The note lengths are not right or something it sounds off compared to my virus.

The virus lets you control all that.
