Update on M50-61 Lockups
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
We have a local Korg repairman that handled the repairs both times. After the second time, he gave up because he had just replaced the system board. My guess is he got a replacement board from Korg and it had bad capacitors on it.
Now, Korg has said they will replace the M50 once we send both of the broken units back to them.
We will see if we finally get a good one.

message to dr mo..
Did you call them or write?
It looks like we have a solution, so far. (knock on wood)
We sent our defective green keyboard back Korg, along with the defective replacement they sent us. A couple days later, Korg sent a new M50-61 to us. It worked! I left it powered-on over night and it was working. Then, we loaded our presets and it still worked.
So, I registered the system with Korg, which gave us two years of warranty, and we used it in a live performance last Saturday. We had no problems. What a relief!
We worked with a support specialist named "Mike" at customerservice@korgusa.com. He was a great guy and did his best to keep us happy.
If anyone else contacts Korg regarding M50-61 lockups, feel free to drop my name. If they keep hearing of multiple, similar problems, they may figure out what happened in the first place.
