Bad Piano sample loop makes click, anyone else ?

Post by Rexy »

Try various acoustic piano presets and play the Ab, A, and Bb just below middle C. Hold single keys down until sample duration reaches the loop point around 3 seconds. Do you hear the click ? I do. Now what ?

Is it just mine ? Maybe it's a serial # related thing ?

How to test for loop click

Post by Rexy »

Select a piano patch, change the touch to 8 so that it triggers at one velocity level. Play one of the three keys listed above, (this particular velocity calls the sample that has the bad loop) If you leave the touch response on default (with sensitivity) and play real hard it will trigger a different sample same if you play softly. So it seems only if you play mezzo forte the sample gets triggered and you hear the bad loop point click. Remember hold key down for 4 seconds.

On my SV-1 the culprit is Grand Piano 2 factory patch # 4.2
I am in touch with Korg they have an audio sample I created to examine.

Korg support has advised me to bring the SV1 to an authorized service center for evaluation since it appears that I may have a ROM problem.

YES, that is nice to hear how they handled that! Good for you and them and us!
