I own one of the premiere recording studios in the United States and have to tell you that the Alesis I/O is a nifty way to kinda cheat and SOUND like you have a pretty good setup. It's a quick and convenient setup too!

Glad to hear that. I dont' really want to use it for recording, but just to midi my keyboard controller to the ipad...etc.

Yes and the way of programming it (as far as needed) is very intuitive.
