lol hey I'm not knocking those songs....very few crowds wouldn't react if you teased it!
I just bring em up because people seem to understand the concept when people mention those regular sounds that everyone recognizes.
Could also probably use Pink Floyd's On the Run sequence as a preset!
Again I've owned a motif for years now and the only reason I would agree with you regarding it having more diverse sounds but I also feel that the majority of sounds on that motif are a joke to use as stock! Sure they are diverse, but there are only a few I would use as a stock sound.
So then that brings up the: would you rather have better sounding stock sounds, or stock sounds that are better to be used as building blocks?
With the availability of stuff on Motifator, that is compounded on both ends (some more great stock sounds, some more great building block sounds, and lots of crap!)
I'd imagine there is a fine line that is impossible to nail down perfectly for a manufacturer to have a balance between both.
And of course, you will never make everyone happy!

Guitar . Kronos & microSTATION
I just bought a microSTATION because I'm tired of hauling my heavy keys around. I noticed some of the acoustic guitar sounds are very good in this little micro machine. I think it's even more impressive than the Kronos acoustic guitars. I payed too much for a Kronos.. what a shame.

Having just glanced through here I think I see what the problem is. People are expecting the Kronos to be the "be all and end all" of keyboards. I understand the frustration but unfortunately it will be some time before the perfect" synthe/workstation is invented.
Myself, I don't care at all if the sounds aren't perfect for cover tunes. As soon as you get the drums, bass, guitars, vocals, and beer into the audience, nobody really knows that you aren't doing a full blown OBX emulation for Jump. I used to use my "Fulll Synth" program on my Wavestation EX and every audience I played in front of thought the sound was perfect.
I also understand about not having enough time for programming. Oh well. If you want to gig, I guess you have to make time or use your old gear. My wife isn't happy about the time I have to spend in my studio but such is life.
I wish you all the best in the New Year and hopefully we all master our Kronos"!
Wishful thinking, I know.

Please stop looking at me as the enemy here just because you got a little but hurt about Kronos. I'm just talking about guitars and violins that were sampled. Can you honestly tell me that they sound real? Have you even heard samples from motifator.com? That's real. All i want is to hear Korg admit that they couldn't do it. And yes, my friend owns a Kronos. I've been messing with it and found a lot of eye candy.

Re: Guitar . Kronos & microSTATION
If you don't like the sounds of Kronos, then you're an idiot buying it ... I guess you're the kind of guy buying a SUV without test driving, and afterwards complaining it's too large ???ddavilyx wrote:I just bought a microSTATION because I'm tired of hauling my heavy keys around. I watched/listened to every video on youtube about the Kronos. Then I spent about 2 hours in the store listening and working with the Kronos.
I made my decision, bought it, and I got what I expected.

Kronos Guitars
This thread should be about impoving on the Kronos guitars and not just complaining about them. I would be appreciated my many if someone on this forum with guitar programming expertise would do some programs and share them. Unfortunately I am a player and not a programmer or I would do it myself. Listining to the samples and considering the all the available guitar program effects, it seems like there is a lot to work with.
I also agree with the previous post; if you do your homework you will either buy or not buy a Kronos and be happy with either decision.

Hi guys I found recently this link:

This sounds pretty nice to me even if this is recorded through a mic.
The play style (live) is really fantastic.

I think it sounds good enough. I enjoyed it also.
Wish I could help those of you here who want a really good guitar sound on the Kronos but I can't ever see myself trying to build one. I play guitar do I just record the real deal.
How about no more trash talking, eh? It accomplishes nothing.

Too much gear to list.
Re: Guitar . Kronos & microSTATION
I like the Kronos, just not the guitars. I hope KARO helps
Re: Guitar . Kronos & microSTATION
djcactus, I finally bought one. Nice try but that was dumb. Instead of copying and pasting up other people's threads why don't you give me your own musical piece of the kronos guitars so I can enjoy them too. Unless, of course, you can't.

This guy is really good at jazz but he can't mimic a nylon guitar. (look at his other vids) That's horrible. Anyways, Im starting to learn how to enjoy the guitars a little more. But they just can't compare to the motif guitars. It's not playable and it doesn't feel real when you play them. It's like a limitation where you can't enter into the guitar piece because the strike of the strings aren't an "in your face" type of sound. It also doesn't imitate a soft and hard strike like the motif. It's missing overtones...
Anyways, I can see that many korg users are very unfriendly, calling me names and stuff. Troll, stupid, idiot....
