I owe KORG, Inc. a serious apology.
Hello all.
Last week around this time, I went absolutely (and unnecessarily) insane with comments I posted regarding my KRONOS boot-up failure. I had panicked in such a way that was not only completely against my behavior, it just wasn't even necessary.
Part of my panicked rant came from the fact that I wasn't finding solutions for my problem on the forum. For some reason, I thought there would be because I am huge advocate of forums and the help and advice they offer. Since my issue "did not appear to be" immediately solvable - I went on such a tirade, that by that Saturday evening I gave up and was just - angry.
Not good or fair to Korg, whose products I have so many of, that have never failed me. I sincerely apologize to everyone at Korg because I was not willing to be patient and just calm down and relax.
After speaking with a friend, I realized that all I really did, was make Korg look bad and give the competition something to enjoy. It seems I also (though not single-handedly) gave potential purchasers of the Kronos a reason to hesitate. That wasn't fair either.
Again, I want to apologize to Korg, it's employees, and also to all of you on this forum. It's not who I am, but it's something I became and I will not allow that type of behavior to happen again.
Thanks for reading.

p.s. I'll be working on those padKontrol video requests soon enough.

It's big of you to apologize. Kudos to you.
I will admit that when I first saw your post last week, I could only mildly sympathize/empathsize with your feelings.
But when I got the startup failure a few days on my Kronos, I internally went through everything you posted! I was able to restore mine from DVD, but still it was a surprising and disturbing experience and perhaps if i couldn't restore mine I might have vented online, too!
I wish you the best in getting your Kronos restored/replaced.

Jamsire ,
Some people don't realize that posting and engaging in conversation here, or anywhere on the net for that matter, at the same time they are making a virtual impression of themselves while doing so.
If it's a place that you frequent often, then one should think about the image they are creating.
You've just regained mine in you! Thanks, that was well done..
I haven't followed the outcome, have you sorted out the problems?

So did you fix the problem?? What was it?? You should let us know the fix in case someone else has the same issue down the road..jamsire wrote:Hello all.

I understand what you are telling us but at the same time , do not feel that you did anything wrong. Stuff like this should'nt happen and if this is an okay thing to accept then Korg should ship Kronos with an DVD drive included cause this feels like we are all going to go through an "Start up failure" at some point, just a matter of time it feels like.
Has Korg given any explanation for this startup failure? Is it OS or is it hardware ? Until all these stuff is sorted out by Korg , they should get criticized for it in my oppinion. Nothing against Korg but this applies to any company that releases an faulty product.
So again you should NOT appologize.

apology accepted although you didn't offend me at all. I completely understand your frustration and figured you were venting. Something we all need to do once in a while. I have a ton of problems with my Kronos but they're all because of something I've done. Right now I can't seem to get my old set-lists back. I was messing around and over-wrote them. Fortunately they were not that big so I can come up with something equally as good. Still sucks though.
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
