The R3 came out before the MKXL. How many MKXL programs have you uploaded for other people to download? There seems to be a difference between R3 owners and MKXL owners. R3 owners tend to be synth program designers, while MKXL owners tend to be preset players. Part of the reason is because Korg gutted half the features of the R3 to make the MKXL, but they didn't cut the price in half, so most anyone who's interested in designing sounds and who've done their research to compare the synths, ends up purchasing the R3 or Radias.

yes but allthat said, you can still design a patch, almost exactly the same way, starting from scratch, then save it to a file exactly the same say as the R3!, and given the fact the xl has the same engine as the R3, they are more or less the same sinth! but with the xl slightly smaller, so they can create the same sounds give or take!, a small download/upload section, with very small file sizes on a forum shouldnt be a problem, surely?

Ask not what your forum can do for you, but what you can do for your forum.

It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Do not complain about splinter in your brother's eye, when there's a log in your own.

Any patch you want to download is already waiting on you to release it.

If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for life. If you give a man a fish, you've taught him to fish you.

It's kind of funny to post in the "MS2000 & MicroKorg" forum to complain that there's no MicroKorg XL Download section, when there are also no download sections for the synths actually covered in this forum, the MS-2000 and MicroKorg!

Comments about the MicroKorg XL are probably better posted to the "Radias & R3" forum, since, despite the name, it has much more in common with those synths than it does with a MicroKorg.

Actually, I think the admins could assist here. Instead of groups

RADIAS / R3
and
Korg MS2000 & microKorg

it would probably be helpful to change the names to

RADIAS / R3 / MicroKorg XL
and
Korg MS2000 & microKorg (not XL)

there's a new website dedicated to korg patches.. they also have a microkorg xl section.
http://korgpatches.com/
people can upload their patches.
they're just starting, so there's not much in there yet, but maybe it grows.

(I'm in no way affiliated with this website)

I uploaded 12 banks of microKORG XL patches to the Korg Patches site. These banks were manually converted from the MS2k, Radias, and R3 by me and I have freely shared with anyone who wants them. They are also available in the microKORG Yahoo group and on Shannon's Remixia patches site. Enjoy these patches! There are many hours of work in this library but it was worth it. I also have a new bank I hope to have done for Christmas.... Happy Holidays!!!! Fran :-)
