External CD Rom Issues
I am trying to "create a cd" . I created my .WAV File and hooked up my cd rom. The Kronos indentified the cd rom and all is good to go. I load my .WAV File to the cd, finalize with what seems no drama. I go to "play cd" and the cd only plays for 4 seconds and it's done. I thought this might be a problem with the cd player on the Kronos so I played the cd on an external cd player and.....it plays 4 seconds. What is the issue?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but you most definitely can create an audio CD of your music right on Kronos in disk mode, Audio CD/Make Audio CD.rderderian wrote:You can not write from the Kronos...you can only load from a cd player per the manual.
I beleive this makes sense as how would the Kronos have the drivers and software to handle this.
Solution: Copy the file...put on your computer and then you can write the cd.
You create your wave files, (Bounce to Disk) put them in order and Burn them to a usb CD rom, from disk mode. Check it out on page 189 Operation Guide.

To me this sounds like it works fine. It was in the M3 so why would it not be in the Kronos.Creating audio CDs
In conjunction with an external USB CD‐R/RW drive,
you can use the KRONOS to create audio CDs of your
music. To do this, you’ll:
• Bounce the completed Songs to WAVE files
• Arrange the WAVE files in a track list, in the order
that you’d like them to appear on the CD
• Burn the track list to a CD
See page 807 of the Parameter guide.
You can create an audio CD in Kronos - would have been surprised if it didn't as the OASYS does it fine.
Not sure however why your CD only plays 4 seconds though. Maybe work through the instructions and see if you get the same result?

Did you check the sample time in Sampling Setup on the Audio in/Sampling Tab?
The default sample time is 4 min 59 sec when you first use Bounce to Disk routine but you may have accidently set it to 4 sec in which it would then only record that amount of audio. When I'm Bouncing to Disk, I set my sample time about 2 mins longer than the overall .wav file time length and do this to all the songs I bounce, just to make sure I don't run out of sampling time.
Hope this helps.

Still...CD Rom Issues
I have created the wave file and yes...I had to extend the sample time to record the whole song. When I play the .WAV File, the whole song is there but when recording to cd I only get the 4 seconds on playback. I even ran the Test Mode and received no negative results. This is a tough one. I can copy the song to a Flash Drive and burn cd from a computer but I don't want to do that if I don't have to.

Not all CD-ROM drives will work with the Kronos. It's possible that both the drives you are using are not compatible (they don't work). I think Korg may have a list of drives that are compatible on their web site. Take a look around or give them a call to find out which ones they recommend.matthewmb wrote:What's compatible? I don't know if that's actually the problem, but it's worth looking into.
Good Luck!
