KORG PA 800 DAMAGE
HELLO I have a serious problem with my keyboard KORG PA 800, I bought 3 years ago and it presented serious problems, I don't know what what happens, I live in Bucaramanga, Colombia and authorized service has been reviewed but have not found the damage. I am a professional pianist and keyboard are handled well and I have all the care it requires. After two years started to show locks, turning on the screen only leaving the notice KORG not load the operating system, sometimes working short time. Had a change of the master card to run smoothly again. Recently reintroduced gradually blocks, first a sound like a very smooth distortion sounds, then the noise increased and began to crash, the buttons did not obey, stopped working one of the speaker and then the keyboard is blocked completely.
The technician said that the main board was damaged and the dealer bought the korg parts, changed the card and the keyboard worked perfectly loaded the operating system and the speakers sounded both without noise and distortion. The keyboard worked only half time and again was totally blocked. I disconnected and only the other day I lit. The screen went SSD error, and followed the reset instructions indicating the korg manual page, loading the operating system and musical resources, the keyboard worked again but only for 10 minutes and blocked. Now I turn it on and just goes blue screen.
I do not know if there is a test program to find the damage, or if it is an issue where high voltage was damaged something that the technicians do not know I appreciate urgent help

sorry...
Wow !! Really i'm sorry. It sounds like you are trailing thick black smoke and one wing shot off... and spiralling quickly towards impact.
If you've been to Korg and its still that bad, you might want to bail out on that one.
You already put a new main board in? and then the solution was temporary? Ow.
Really I'm sorry.

When it damages once, it will keep doing it always.... korg didnt change anything in new motherboards.... or i should be more precisly.... replacing damaged motherboard or ram memory module is just fixing consequence of this problem, and not fixing cause of this problem.
I was changing motherboard 3 times.... and still having problems.... so i was into that problem....

When one component have variable and unadequate voltage, resistance, or some other value... it cause stressing some other component until stop working.... servicers are not finding cause they just make u buy new motherboard or ram module.... so what stop this part if didnt fixed to stress ram or board again? If there is 10-15 specimens damaged that wouldnt be serious.... but almost every other pa800 is having same simptoms... that should be BIG MINUS for korg engineers... and for company that still didnt fixed this. I was changing motherboard 3 times, so as ram module, and on end i bought pa1xpro againg.... didnt have nervs to play anymore with this problem.....
for us who make living with instruments.... its not a problem to pay 400 euros for new motherboard and ram, problem is that this can happen againg in middle of playing in fron of audience.....
And big number of pa800 models in every service here doesnt make me very optimistic.....
im on good old pa1xpro now....
this is just for those who wanna buy new pa800.... or used one... THINK TWICE!

The problem could be in the power supply, nothing really else other than the motherboard with cpu and RAM, but not that the PA800 has a big problem, just happened in a few cases , anyhow KORG is responsible to fix it no matter what, so I don't think that you have to think twice about getting a KORG PA800 because in my opinio it is one of the BEST! around for the money period, a few rotten apples do not spoil the whole bunch.

Bro, i was in almost all service in my country, almost every pa800 had a problem.... some of servicers dont wanna repair pa800 anymore, because they have obligation when change motherboard to give 1 year waranty on replaced part, so there was to many replaced, and reported problem again, so they have to pay.... those who had problem with pa800 dont wanna say untill they sold it in adds.... i didnt have camera with me to take a picture in biggest service in capital here.... i thought all pa800 from this part Europe is on that place
in comparing with pa1x.... pa800 quality is ZERO ! Like tetris from china market.... who opened those 2 models knows what im toalking about....
i just can say... good luck those who still wanna buy pa800.

To everyone,
I have the PA800, I dont play gigs all I do is play about with it at home.
There seems to be some negative responses regards the keyboard, which I cannot agree with. I am more than satisfied with the keyboard and I am sure I will never be able to fully utilise all its capabilities.
I have said before that I find this forum very helpful and people quite rightly air their views on all matters which others may or may not agree with.
So to be quite clear I do understand peoples concerns when something goes wrong, however my car sometimes goes wrong, and if it is under warranty it will be repaired at no cost, if it is out of warranty it is my responsibility. I believe that to be fair.
Best wishes
Keith Lawton

Hi keith, that's only partially true , if you're talking about cars. It all depends. My car is been out of warranty for 4 years now, and I still get FREE service from Toyota, if there's a faulty component in the car. They always have free service calls. In general warranty has nothing to do with a manufacturing defect. They are fully responsible to provide you with a fully working product.keith-helen wrote: So to be quite clear I do understand peoples concerns when something goes wrong, however my car sometimes goes wrong, and if it is under warranty it will be repaired at no cost, if it is out of warranty it is my responsibility. Warranty only covers regular wear and tear, accidents...etc.
My keyboard never had a serious problem. I've only experienced some problems with the OS at times, so i'm not trying to agree or disagree with those who have experienced problems...

Hi Sam
I agree with everything you said.
I was not trying to be controversial as the subject of warranties has been well discussed on the forum.
It can be very ,very frustrating/annoying if a keyboard does malfunction so I do understand peoples concerns.
Best wish

By the way where is rikki bears, keith (mr niceaneasy) etc etc have they all jumped ship?

Problem with pa800 loading, turning on etc...
My problems seem well here ive seen it all multiple fixes, boards replaced and spent about the same amount to gdt a new keyboard. The problem is simple yet stupid. Its a virus in the global file which get copied from set.....to...set. When i share my stuff with people the keyboard saves all files including .GLOBAL so watch out what you put in your keyboard.

Well, here in US, I have see very few people with issues with PA800.neverkorgagain wrote:Bro, i was in almost all service in my country, almost every pa800 had a problem.... some of servicers dont wanna repair pa800 anymore, because they have obligation when change motherboard to give 1 year waranty on replaced part, so there was to many replaced, and reported problem again, so they have to pay.... those who had problem with pa800 dont wanna say untill they sold it in adds.... i didnt have camera with me to take a picture in biggest service in capital here.... i thought all pa800 from this part Europe is on that place![]()

In my opinion is one of the best arranger ever made.
If most of the PA800 in you country have issues, it could something like the power supply or the power lines.
I will say the same for el amigo en Colombia. If Korg have replace the SB 3 times and the same problem repeat, check you power source.

Here in Serbia, i now only 2 pa800 owners that have not yet taken their keyboard to service..... all others did. I was one of them, and i was replacing my mainboard 3 times.... and i sold it after that.
Why pa1x or pa1xpro doesnt have that percentage of problems? Or pa80?
Because they are well made. This garbage (pa800) dont deserve to be KORG, or their company sold pa800 with defect in this area intentionaly???
In every county in this region i now there is problem with this model, so now price for used pa800 is very low, if u somehow find buyer for it. Its a lot cheaper than pa1x.
So dont give me that crap that this is good keyboard.
Its obviously factorys error, or low price components.....
KORG was serious company when this text was on keyboard
MADE IN JAPAN.
All after that is low price garbage, with high prices on old fame.

Hmmm. Perhaps folks in your area are more likely to be experimenting with their keyboards, you know ... doing mods and loading non-factory OS'sneverkorgagain wrote:Here in Serbia, i now only 2 pa800 owners that have not yet taken their keyboard to service..... all others did.
