So Karo, you support M3, Kronos but no longer Oasys ? What?

Oasys users have had their "goodwill" gesture from Korg. From now on it's just incentives to buy a Kronos or disincentives to remain with the Oasys.
The OASYS is by no means discontinued in my book.

Nothing stopping us from getting together and writing 10 sounds each, and compiling them into a new Library for ourselves. We done it many times before back in the Triton days.

It won't affect me. I'm happy with Oasys plus Cubase / Kontakt 4 and more VST's than you could shake a stick at 8)
Well Tony, that's the most logical reason I can think of too... Perhaps an agreement to be officially included as a Kronos 'developer librarian' means that products for all un-supported models, ie OASYS, has to be dropped.

That is also supported where the converse is true in two ways:

1. Karo still advertise their products for the M3 which in its current form (Xp) is still supported by Korg and
2. Explains why Irish Acts can support both OASYS and Kronos, as they are not an official library developer

Just sayin' (observin').

Hi,

is there already an official statement from KARO anywhere? besides "send me a pm etc?

Strange coincidence between the "discontinued" KARO support for OAsys libraries and the new Kronos libraries which are even when STR 1/MOD7 not compatible to OASYS?

any conspirancy thought? 8)

Given that the whole notion of the Kronos concept is conspired from the OASYS, then I would not be surprised in the least.

I wonder how long it will take for Kronos users to work out that if they wait long enough, they'll get the extra libraries / stuff for free as per the OASYS precedent...

Other than "send pm or email" no official word from Karo - although they have said somewhere I think that they will no longer be developing new libraries.

yes, and imagine how they will be surprised when recognizing that after Korg has released the new lets say URANUS with all Oasys sound engines plus Kronos piano engines the new soundlibraries are not compatible even when the engines are the same 8)
(sorry couldn´t resist :D )

 Very funny. I saw a reference to the Karo company a week or so ago, and thought....interesting, I'll just cruise on over there and see if there is anything really interesting for my Oasys 76. Got a K61 on order(paid for since July 22) I was thinking I better get what I can for the big O before things start to be discontinued. Well as you guys have so aptly observed, I guess I am a day late and a dollar short. Let my restate that, I am a few days late and Karo is a few dollars short.
Kronos 2 61, Wavestation A/D, Yamaha Genos and others.

+1 (but I wonder how many people really do make their own programs).
