Korg PS60
Amazed to see that there is no dedicated forum for the PS60.
Anyway, i have a problem. I cannot get an expression pedal to work on this thing but it it a Roland EV-5. It definitely works as I tried it on a Roland A800 pro. The Korg will accept it as a switch for moving up programs etc, but not as expression, volume or master volume.
I am also trying to get the damper pedal to work on a dual sound of piano and strings but just to sustain the piano, not the strings. Strangely, i can only get this to work if the string is chosen as the main timbre in performance edit rather than piano...seems strange.
Anyway, happy to strip the volume pedal and rewire if that will do the trick but i thought the polarity change setting would sort it. Really cannot think of anything else to try.
Any ideas?

I would recommend that u change the polarity setting of the pedal. And PS-1 pedal is my recommendation for sustaining the strings. Read the korg user manual to find out more.

I am disappointed and happy in equal measures regarding the functionality of this board. Disappointed by the advice I was given which stopped me buying it. Happy that i got around these limitations and saved £200.
Guy in the shop said the PS60 was not multitimbral....but it is. You can set a different midi channel to each sound in a 6 layer stack. You could even double the sounds by using a split. I presume you can assign another 6 midi channels to those in the sub timbre in the split.
Guy also made it sound like a preset synth but the editor is pretty comprehensive.
He also said I couldnt assign a volume pedal to just one sound in a layer but you can.
Finally, he said it is a shame you cannot stack two sounds from the same category but didn't know that you can save a sound to a different category. Therefore you can put your favourite synth sound in to brass then layer with with another synth. Same can be done in a split.
Bottom line....this is turning into a great little board at a bargain price.

Brilliant. Is there any way of getting hold of new sounds for this board? Does anyone actually share them online? I cant find much in the way of support for the PS60 and it is a great machine. Would love to hear what a creative programmer can squeeze out of it.GeePee wrote:Yeah, you can edit a single sound (program) and save/load it to the computer and/or to the PS60.
program to download
Just an experiment: I have edited a piano to my taste, without the compression-effect. You can download it here:
www.gpmusic.de.vu
Load it with the editor then go to "utilities" and "write program". Now the submenues are visible, here you can save the piano even to an other cathegory. Good luck!
BTW: I like the PS60 very much, my first impression of the pianos was not the best, but now I enjoy almost every program/instrument.
