Confirmed Bugs and Other issues with Kronos!

Post by BasariStudios »

A lot of you know how i get when i buy a new synth, i always come up with few
bugs and i already did on the Kronos...:
1. (Confirmed on 3 KRONOSes by Me):
When using Polysix turning to User, Arabic or other scales it works unproperly,
Notes change Pitch on each different Kit...someone else confirm please?
You can just use a Factory Polysix patch and just change the Scale to it.
2. (Not confirmed and not a Bug, maybe i dont know):
So we are Stuck with One User Bank in Program Mode...which can be Either Or
and now we have to delete a whole other Bank just to have 2 separate User
Banks for EXi and HD-1?
3. (Also something that i dont know):
If i UNLOAD the Extra EXs, what do i have left on the Synth? I dont actually
understand whats Factory and whats Extra? So we call the Factory Extra?
If i Unload all the Extras, do i still have some Sounds from HD-1 left?
4. (Confirmed on My Kronos and many others)
The Value Knob/Wheel comes out completely, i dont see anything broken, it
just comes out and you can simply put it back in.
5. (On my Kronos only):
All of the Faders Caps on tops were loose, i had to push each one back and
now they are ok, untill when i dont know, one was actually getting stuck but
now works properly.
6. (On my Kronos only):
The Touch Interface is a little hard to use, its not correct, it tends everything
to be touched more to the left of it to actually work, i did calibration and also
some of the Fonts suck, small.

KRONOS built is probably cheaper then M50, for DieHard people that worry
about Synth's Built forget about KRONOS, it will be your biggest dissapointment.
So far i havent seen a Synth more poorly built then Kronos, even the cheapest ones.

Everything else is Top Notch!

Roland Juno-G - however, now that I think about it, it didn't break. How about my CS6X, plays random notes if you play minor seconds quickly.
PC361, don't drop it or the transformer can rip out of the channels.

This is the thing that bothers me most, id like to have two spare banks for exi and hd-1 without having to delete other stuff. In reality I'll probably have to go through the whole synth and write down all the stuff I'll never use and compile the stuff i will into its own banks so i have some spare. A painstaking process, be nice to be able to overwrite those GM banks for sure.

I think most of the things can be solved with a software update. :)

I wouldn't discount Nedim's opinion. He has experience with both boards he mentioned.

I OWN both an M50 and a Kronos so I absolutely know. There is no comparison. The keybed, frame, and controllers are all sturdier on the Kronos. It also weighs a lot more than an M50.

It is a nice balance of weight vs build quality. Now compared to my PC3X? The Kurzweil is built like a tank.

Ok, if you know him, you may be right, although the opinions sound like stemming from half cooked thoughts - probably, maybe et al exhibits lacks of confidence, which is important especially when the title of the post says "confirmed bugs"!!

Absolutely - Kronos build quality is VERY good, comparing it with as that of M50 is waste of time.

Yea comparing M50 to Kronos is not really fair ,
so how about comparing it with Oasys , that may be more appropriate .
So has the Kronos out classed the Oasys in build quality ?

Screen angle which cant be fixed. Interface touchscreen Font and icon size unadjustable. No separate Category button or Favorites button besides using the touchscreen. Blah! Setlist need some tabs at the bottom... vs using the Scroll slider. Ability to Upgrade the RAM.

Oasys build quality is much better, almost every component of it.
