Hi,

I've upgraded my main keyboard from motif es7 to xf8. This is my first song composed with this instrument. I dedicate this to my little daughter (2 months) who spends a lot of time with me in the studio :-)

Its a videoclip and its called 'for Sara': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0GxK8YcGJM

Its based on motif's performance which I recorded into different patterns. I also switch the scenes in the sequencer for more variety.

I hope you'll enjoy it, let me know what you think.

cheers

I really like the sound of this. I do believe you are taking the lead with leads so to speak. I like how you layer the different synth programs and they all add their own texture to the song. There's nice variation here and it was fun to watch the video of the motif and what you were doing. I'm not sure if this is mastered or not, or if that's how the motif sounds raw, but it sounds very well mixed and balanced. :D :) :D

Thanks for feedback George. I recorded the audio into one of Logic's template mixer settings so it has some global compression and reverb on top. I did not process it with izotope though.

I'm glad you liked the solo. My teacher is a jazz player so he gently 'pushes' me in that direction a bit.

cheers

Great start and really cool tuneful sound and great as George notes "Combined leads" .... Love the layering for that!!

The sound of the main tune really has a fine contrast to the other material...I Love it..

It does have a distinct jazz sound and it fits so well

The overall effect for me as a surprisingly thoughtful and dreamy feel that has real depth!!!! I feel an almost sad and thinking sound, like a might feel for a place of beauty or power... a high place maybe a hill or mountain area and the valley lying below (But I am ALWAYS "SEEING" a real scene for music not intended to evoke such...)

Yet the distinct dance feel is also there and very much a part of this feel for me.. I would put an emotional content on it this way as I hear such ..so often in music I listen to .., simply from my own experiences...

I also like the mix as it is ; it sounds very good and I like the effect for ME as it is!!! Very finished to me!

VERY NICE My Friend and I will be listening some more!! to this one ..It seems very expansive for me!

Regards and thanks!!!!!!!!!! John (johnny ellll) :D  :D

Love the bottom end/bass especially around the 1:06 mark....note holds for quite a while over the chord phrasing....always loved that approach....make a grand sound track......
Cheers!

I like atmosphere here, it's great to solo to. I also like how you use a series of chord patterns with the synth strings and other sounds, while keeping the bass rhythm pattern mostly the same (if you get what I'm trying to say, haha). It's a style I use a lot.

Good job, I enjoyed it. :)

John - thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the comment on the 'distinctive jazz sound'. I'm aiming at that direction so its good to know I'm getting there.

Ron - nice to hear from you again mate. I'm glad you joined this OSAM bus.

Pumpkin - thanks for listening, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

cheers

Hi Sewa, I've listened to 'For Sara' a few times now and I like what I hear, it is good music from start to finish. I love the sequencing, the bass and drums as well as the lead keys, they help it move to another level which in my book is really good, great song, keep it up.

I love all the layers you have going on here! The lead sounds cut through so clear and strong - everything is so clear and well placed, Very creative,

Every time I listen I notice some more things going on.
