New models Electribes SD offer artist-created patterns

Post by GabDJ »

New up-to-date patterns created by today's hot talent
New preset data has been carefully selected from the latest sounds and patterns produced by ELECTRIBE loving creative artists from around the world. Ninja Tune/Big Dada artists Emika and the Anti-pop Consortium are contributors, as well as U.K. MySpace artist Shrikednb (Tom Thorpe); plus YouTube stars Denkitribe, mryat and Scribej. Simply listening to these new patterns will nourish your need to create cutting-edge music.
What does it mean "new up-to-date patterns"? :-s
In new models Korg Electribes SD are there new samples, for exemple new hit-hat claps, or are there just new demo-songs, like House1 Minimal2???
I don't understand it very well...
Please let me know! :)

Thank you guys,
GabDJ

I'm pretty sure 'new patterns' means 'new patterns', as in the preset patterns. As in the 'demo' arrangements and such.

I think it would need to have the same samples for backwards compatibility.
If there were new samples, I think it would say 'new samples' or even 'NEW SAMPLES' - considering that would be exciting.

I don't know man, yesterday i saw the only two videos about these 2 electribes
and i think i have heard something new in the ESX SD's video:

At the start of the video there is a voice and a keyboard-part that in the ESX doesn't exist (the first one with SmartMedia).
For this reason i think that for both new electribes sd, maybe there are also new samples.
This is the video of EMX SD:
> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNAozsyL ... re=channel

I'm really confused... :|

maybe the new patterns use new samples too ... I don't know

http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=159 does say "New preset data has been carefully selected from the latest sounds and patterns"

I wouldn't make a purchasing decision based on the presets anyway (they're just presets and the ESX1SD data will probably be available to download at some point)

amusingly, I see that Korg didn't even bother to replace all occurrences of "SmartMedia" in the product blurb, see the bottom of that page :)

That makes sense for the ESX because you can use your own samples anyway and that is a major part of many people's patterns.

What I wouldn't expect is to see new samples in the EMX's limited selection.

In fact there are also others strange things.
If you go to the Korg UK web site, searching about Electribes EMX and ESX, there is available to download:

EMX (SmartMedia) : http://www.korg.co.uk/products/dance_dj/mx1/dj_mx1.asp
_Manuals.
_Operating Sistem 1.02 (i know, in russian site there is available the 1.04 version).
_Demos.

ESX (SmartMedia) : http://www.korg.co.uk/products/dance_dj/sx1/dj_sx1.asp
_Manuals.
_Operating Sistem 1.02.
_ESX-1 Preload Data The Factory Preload Data/Sample. - WHY THERE ISN'T ALSO FOR THE EMX ???
_Demos.

Finally, about the download files of the new Electribes SD there is NOTHING to download !
EMX SD : http://www.korg.co.uk/products/dance_dj ... emx1sd.php
ESX SD : http://www.korg.co.uk/products/dance_dj ... esx1sd.php

Very very strange, i don't understand... Why Korg doesn't make free all support files for these machines ??? :(

because the SD models are brand new and they haven't updated the website yet?

or maybe Korg HQ haven't sent them to the UK support team yet?

it's not that strange or hard to understand - you seem to be easily confused! ;)

But what about the...
ESX-1 Preload Data The Factory Preload Data/Sample. - WHY THERE ISN'T ALSO FOR THE EMX ???
...Why ?

Who is Korg HQ? And what is the official web site of the Korg, where can i find all support files released?

Thank you very much all! :D

well it's a Japanese company, so Korg UK is not the parent company

why don't you try contacting Korg to ask, they're more likely to know the answer than people on some forum

from searching for files i learned that the korg sites are very different for each country. e.g. the german one still doesn't mention the sd electribes. i'd guess until the machines are released in a particular country you shouldn't expect any files to be available on that site (german vendors list delivery dates in late august, if that helps).

as for the no emx-preload-file: all non-sample based electribes can restore the factory settings without any files. in fact, the esx can too, but would only restore the settings without the actual samples. that's why you need the file for - it contains the sounds.

Now finally, about EMX-1's donwload files, is clear!

About the Electribes SD, we just wait that Korg releases the files of these two new machines... I hope it :!:

Korg is definitely Japanese-owned but have a good English-friendly site with download links for their devices. EMX1/ESX1 SD models probably are going to get whatever files for them soon if not now.
