32 beat grid?

Post by JamesJeffery »

I see the EMX has a 16 beat grid, any way of creating a 32 bar grid so I can create some movement in the beats?

16steps and 8 scenes = 128 continuous steps at one pattern.

Sorry, I didn't explain properly.

On a DAW you can set the grid to 16, 32, 64 etc so you can quantize or place notes in off beat places on the grid. I know the EMX is not a DAW, but I was wondering if the grid can be set in a similar fashion.

I've read about people doubling the tempo to achieve it but wanted to know if there's another way around it.

On the ESX you set the Beat to 32 and each step key is a 32nd note - I'd assume it's the same on the EMX.

Ah right, wicked!! Just what I was looking for.

Also, off topic but how's the KP? I'm looking to get one next week. Getting an Access Virus too so all 3 hooked up should be manic.

I lurrrrve the KP3! before I got that I just had a pair of decks, now I've got three electribes and two akai samplers, all because the KP3 got me hooked on sampling and mangling sounds. The KP3 is the most fun of all of them though.
