Performed upgrade to version 2.53, no reboot afterwards & displays above message permanently, even after restart. Initial problem: hang up,
any suggestions?

Sounds like the write to Tritons memory is incomplete. Have you tried reinstalling? Probably worth making a fresh set of install floppies with the OS on and then reinstalling.

system errror happened after "now writing internal memo
I posted a question asking how to fix this. I kept turning off and on again. I reloaded OS and still didnt fix it, Id try that first for you its quick and easy, and try unplugging the extended memory and turn back on.
If you find a solution then let me know cuz my problem started with that message getting stuck.
