My first UTube video - for Genesis fans

Post by mocando »

I humbly present my first YouTube upload. Is me performing Genesis Fading Lights live version, even with a semitone down to adjust to Phil's aging voice. My setup is as follows:

Cubase with many VSTs loaded for the Guitar (RealStrat), bass pedal (Moog Taurus vst), drums and bass.
Sampled the Drum Machine from the first two measures of the studio version CD.
Sampled Phil's voice (with voice extractor) from The Way We Walk live DVD.

The rest is played by the M50's sounds: a synth strings pad, a layer of brass and strings for the left hand, a layer of brass and hammond organ for the right lower and switching the strings for the mini lead patch for the solo. Still can't get the Wavestation mini lead patch right, but this one is very close. I can live with it so far.

Patches will be available very soon in KorgFans's download section.

Comments are welcomed.

EDIT: I deleted the original, the one with bad sound. So I updated the link here.

Very cool to see another M50 video! Keep them coming people.
Nice to see you're using it for prog music too. The sound quality it's a shame though. I'd prefer the sound to be recorded separately and then joined, even if that means an out-of-sync situation.

Nevertheless, I'd like to see what you can do next Martín!

Hey Martin, I enjoyed that immensely! Thanks for posting it. That Minilead program you came up with isn't too bad! It might be the quality of the recording, but it sounded like it could use some work on the decay/release. I finally just sampled my Wavestation VSTi into my Fantom G. :D

By the way, good job figuring out that cross-handed thing!

Sound recorded again and overdubbed. Sadly I made a couple of mistakes. But I'm not recording anything else until I get my new handycam, so the video gets better too.

Is like .2 secs late, but it works, I think. Comments welcomed

OH I almost forgot. I'm using my new MiniLead sound. Thanks to X-Trade for guiding me on sound programming.
