yea this is actually an important feature, absolutely necessary for live looping without interruption (otherwise you'd have to wait until the next measure to manually start the loop)

oooooh, it sounds like you're talking about loop trigger methods then.. there should be a setting for this-- at least on the KP3 2.0 OS, you can set it to trigger loops by Gate, to continuously loop in the background even while the loop is off, or to start all loops from the beginning when triggered (I don't know what the specific terms of these 3 methods are, but that's the description).

I'd check the manual.. if that's the case, then ignore everything I said previously about tempo drift :P

i guess a w0rkar0und is t0 change the pIayback type 0n the kp3 t0 type 3 (retrigger m0de)

stiII.. thats a bit s**t n0?
Just to confirm. When the KP3 finishes recording, it starts to playback the recorded sample - that should definitely *always* stay in sync with the loop being played on your KPro. Do the samples drift? If so, that's messed up! I haven't tested this with my KO1 (I just stop the KO1 loop as soon as the KP3 has finished sampling). I will test it tonight though when I get home.
it immediateIy phases...which is inevitabIe.. i guess..

BUT

If i turn 0ff the I00p 0n 0n the Kpr0.. then restart it.. its 0ut 0f sync... which is pants because I th0ught the KPr0 I00ped c0ntinu0usIy same as theKP3
If you leave the loops in phase, do they stay in sync?

The KP3 has 3 different methods of looping (as mentioned by darth), does the KPro also have different loop triggering modes?

If the loop on the KP3 and KPro are in phase, and the KP3 is in mode 1 (continuously looping in the background) you should be able to start and stop (well mute, really) the loops on both boxes without any time shift.

Sounds like we need a few tests to see if there's an issue. Must be enough people on here with a KPro and KP3 who can check this out.

wow looks like you're right, k0va.. I downloaded the manual just to satisfy my own curiosity (also I thought you might've just overlooked a setting) but it looks like the KOPro did NOT inheret the KP3's updated OS functionality of changing loop playback settings..

from the manual:
"TIP: If you start playback from a state where all banks
are stopped, the phrase will start playing from its
beginning. If even one bank is already playing, the
newly triggered bank will start playing from the same
position as the bank that’s currently playing ensuring
that all banks always play in synchronization."

so it doesn't even offer the option of setting the loop playback type that the OS 2.0 update gave you for the KP3 :(
