Newbie question for mikrokorg synth

I'm new at this and just finished getting all the essential pieces for my studio. Now I just need to interconnect them all. Besides software, what other gear do I need to save my samples from my mikrokorg synth to the computer? And what software would you recommend to save and edit my samples? Your help es greatly appreciated, thanks!

Korg produce free PC/Mac software for editing the Microkorg's sound.
