Hi MetroFM,
In "Global -> MIDI -> Setup Gen.Ctl" do you have the "Clock Source"parameter set to "Ext. MIDI" or "Ext. USB"? If you are connected to external equipment via standard MIDI cables then you should use "Ext. MIDI" and if you are connected via USB you use the "Ext. USB" option.
I'm fairly certain that External MIDI clock sync does work in Style Play mode and in "Backing Sequence (Quick record)" mode. I haven't checked it recently though.
Note: The Pa2x needs external MIDI Clock to be sent by your external equipment, it cannot use MTC (MIDI Time Code). You will know if the external equipment is sending MIDI Clock because otherwise Styles will not play in Style Play mode.
Best regards,
Rob

Hi MetroFM,
I have to admit that to date, I have only synced MIDI clocks to external when playing the Pa2x in Style play mode. If you like, I will try this coming weekend when I have time, to see if I can get it to work in Backing Sequence (Quick Record) mode while "playing" the chords via an external MIDI track (in Cubase). If external MIDI sync does not work then I will report it to Korg because it would be a software fault in my opinion. The user guide clearly states that MIDI clock external sync should work in Sequencer mode(s). It does say that MIDI clock external sync is disabled in Song Play mode.
Best regards,
Rob

Hi Metro,
if your guitar tracks are already recorded in Sonar,
have you considered saving them as midifiles, & using the Style Import Function.
Might be easier in the long run than changing all the settings required to record via midi.
I did sort of get it to work in Powertracks 12 with Korg as Master,. It doesn't like being Slave.
Maybe might be applicable in your case also.
