I got just about 3 hours and 25 minutes of continuous use (sampling, editing, pattern recording, FX tweaking, etc.) on 6 brand new Energizer AA alkaline batteries. That was with almost constant button pushing and knob twisting, so the auto backlight was triggered on at least half of the time...not that a couple of LEDs eat a lot of energy, but that may have been a factor.
That's not spectacular time, although it's not bad compared to my Boss RC-20XL (which gets about 4 or 5 hours) and really that's all you need for a gig.

Why no real accu... I guess that's due to its "cheap" design, targeted at the market previously buying the MicroKorg. Adding such stuff adds up to its price. A higher price makes people expecting a lot more in functionality as well (in which I think it is lacking some things compared to the ESX-1, even though it's a different machine).
I've been reading quite a few complaints about it being overpriced and I really think that's not a totally fair statement. Of course, if you were expecting anything more than a sampling groovebox in a keyboard body (which is what it is, and alone in its field at the moment) then you may feel let down or underwhelmed. It is as worthless or as great as the user makes it be...look at the SP1200 which still sells for over $1000 in fair condition. Even Casio SKs are over $100 regularly on ebay. Basically, yeah it's not perfect, but you get what you give with any piece of gear.

It sometimes works, but sometimes causes trouble.

Agreed. The batteries that have less charge die out first and therefore the circuit dies. And then... the undercharged batteries might start getting really warm.FranzK wrote:general tip - don't use batteries of different brand or charge level!shabby wrote:anyone tried batteries.. i did , 4 fully charged 2100 and two duracel of which i am not sure bout the power..

No need to 'bend' the truth to make your point!3sleeves wrote: Even Casio SKs are over $100 regularly on ebay.
I got about 2 1/2 hours off some fresh Eveready's. That's a sound check and gig, so that's good in my book. I'm not rockin' batteries at home doing the grunt work, that's for sure - though it's smart if you live in a power outtage prone place to have some in there just in case!!

I was thrown off by the unnecessarily obnoxious posts until I checked your myspace link. Art rockers...pretentiousness explained. There are some other threads on here you could bless with your hilarious quips and arrogance while your on such a roll. Bravo on serving me with your poignant analysis of the used electronics auctioning market, I just hope I can live with the shame. Ass. I got your joke, it just sucked 'ultimately'.
