Hi
Really hope someone can help me. I've recently bought the fantastic Korg M50 in red and im really happy with it but im ive connected it to my novation nio audio interface to play in my DAW. When i record and playback in the sequencer it only plays through the left speaker in mono. This is really frustrating and unprofessional sounding, especially as my novation xiosynth records in stereo and sounds great. I know it has a built in audio interface but surely you can record stereo through the M50. Am i doing something wrong? Ive got the nio connected to my computer via usb, the monitors are connected to audio output L/mono and R on the M50 and a cable in the headphone socket of the M50 and connected to the input 2 socket of the nio. Please help. Many Thanks
How do you record audio in stereo on the M50 through Nio?

What sequencer are you using? Check if the recorded signal has signal on both left and right. It's probably something simple, like some panning issues or recording to a mono channel ...
Another thing to try is to switch the two cables from the M50 and see if anything changes. Also, try and pan things left and right on the M50 when you switch, just to see if it's the same side lacking sound.

I got confused by your setup. Are you recording the headphones output? To do this you need a stereo jack to double mono jack cable to record it.
But you should instead switch around, so you feed the monitors with sound from your soundcard's main out, and connect both L and R output from the M50 into either the soundcard (two channels).

Thanks for your quick reply. My set up is korg m50, nio2/4 audio interface and magix music maker 15, I'm used to using the Xiosynth which is really straightforward but trying to get a stereo recording with the m50 has been really frustrating, I've tried using different cables to various sockets with no luck. Basically the 2 cables from the monitors are in the m50 L and R sockets and the nio is connected to the pc through USB, what cable do I use to connect the m50 to the nio? At the moment I've got a cable from the m50 headphone socket to the nio's input 2 socket? If you could talk me through the set up I'd be very grateful?

To connect your M50 to your audio interface, get yourself a jack to phone cable like this:
