What adapter did you buy?
It would be helpful for all if you would follow up this thread and let us know what adapter you purchased.
Hi Mc, did you have any success with this?McHale wrote:The M3 also has an external power supply (but mounted on the inside - weird).
So, I'm gonna tear my M50 apart sometime this week and see if there's enough room to do the same with the M50...

KA320 Switching Power Supply
(Model 510405540503)
The other part was just a regualr 3-prong power cable that you should have laying around already.
I don't know why Korg doesn't sell these at thier online store with all the other adapters:

Mike,
You need to call Guitar Center (the store, not the web site) and special order it. I'm sure any Kord dealer can order it. When I ordered mine, GC did not have the part number in thier system and had to call Korg. It was harder than it should have been. I had no luck searching the web either. Just call a store and have them contact Korg.

I've got all of the stuff, just need to shape the bracket to mount inside now. I pulled the metal casing off of a power supply and am forming it now.jpscoey wrote: Hi Mc, did you have any success with this?

Keep us informed, eh?McHale wrote:I've got all of the stuff, just need to shape the bracket to mount inside now. I pulled the metal casing off of a power supply and am forming it now.jpscoey wrote: Hi Mc, did you have any success with this?

Definitely. Most won't do it like I will though. I'm gong to unsolder the adapter jack and solder the wires directly to the board (or unsolder the jack, turn it 90 degrees and use the power supply stock).jpscoey wrote: Keep us informed, eh?
Right now I'm gigging with it completely stock. I'm trying to convince Korg to send me the service manuals for the M50 and M3 because that damn jog dial moves on my once in a while. I want to mount a mini toggle switch to the surface so I can disable it when I'm playing live.

Two suggestions:Mike Manion wrote:Addy 73: You say you got the KA320 Switching Power Supply
(Model 510405540503) for the Korg M50 at "GC" meaning Guitar Center?
I did a search for this adapter and couldn't find it at Guitar Center.
If ANYONE out there has had success finding this adaptor, please provide some guidance.
Mike
1) Contact Korg USA and ask them if you can order this directly. Also ask them why it is not sold in the Korg USA webstore (perhaps it is new and they haven't gotten around to it yet)
2) Have your local Korg dealer order one for you. I know Sweetwater.com could order one for you.
You need to order two Korg "parts":
1. KA320 Switching Power Supply
(Model 510405540503)
-- this is the "adapter" part that plugs into the M50
2. Three-Pronged IECC13 Power Cable
(Model D8B5518003B)
-- this is the separate AC cable that runs between the adapter and the AC wall outlet.
[this part is listed on the KorgUSA webstor]

M50 Power Tip or Barrel
This is my first post here.
Anyway, I was in the same situation, needing the power tip. I'd wrecked my brains trying to remember where I had seen this before.
After hours on Google, I eventually found and remembered. It is the same tip as Samsung laptops.
I purchased one here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
In case the above URL expires, the description is "DC power plug laptop 5.5 mm X 3.3mm, 1mm center pin"
Fits like a glove.
Also, I kind of remember when Samsung first started making mainstrem laptops, they got a lot of criticism for using parts that were manufacturer specific. That sentiment seems to be slightly echoed here, and with justification I may ad.
Hope this helps.
It is also the same power tip or barrel for Korg X 50, Korg PA 500 / PA 588 according to the thomann website which lists the korg keyboards compatable with the KA320 here:
http://www.thomann.de/ie/korg_netzteil_ka_320.htm
And again, it is the same tip or barrel used on the Privia PX330 and PX130.
The adapters for these two models (Korg/Casio Privia) are interchangable in fact. Although the amp ratings are different, it has gotten me out of a hole in the past.
I really hope this helps a lot of Korg (and some Casio) users out there

Replacement Power Supply for M50
I need to replace the power supply on my m50 - just touching the thin wire can turn off the keyboard.
I saw this power supply at powerpayless.com for a good price.

Has anyone purchased one from here? Does it work okay? Thanks!!
