I give the guy credit for making the program, without it I probably would have sold my esx, and for the improvements he has made on it. It could use some more improvements, but then so could the OS.

updates info read each post for specifics of each update.

I have samples that wont load into the organizer. They are WAV files but is there a certain format they have to be in to be able to be load into the organizer??

I have the same problem :( with some of them. I haven't figure out why certain ones don't want to load.

And why does a sample of 199KB becomes 2.560KB after you convert it to .esx format is beyond me :?

Anyone ?

I believe they have to be 16 bit .wav files, maybe yours are 24 bit? I've had samples that wouldn't load, and they were always 24bit samples. Use a program like Goldwave, Cooledit, or Audacity to convert them.

THANX, I thought it is something simple like that, and being new at it, just overlooked that ...
I must take a look... :) I use Zero-X beat creator BTW...

just posting to say 'THANX!!!'

brilliant

Maybe I'm asking too much, but do you know of any free wave editors that can convert just the left or right channel into a new mono wav, and not mixing both channels... as a batch.
Currently using wavosaur, but can only do one wav at a time
Cheers

Just get a macbook. Not much difference in a 12" and 13.3". However I would advise against getting a brand new macbook because they have scrapped the firewire input and replaced that with more HD space. Bad move mac, bad move.

It would be great to get the source code. The tool is functional but I frequently find myself with the daunting task for moving 100 files up 100 rows which actually works out to 100 x 100 = 10, 000 clicks which is a bit too much.

I'd like to just add Multi select functionality.

But we need the source code!

LOL, I gave up trying to organize samples, exactly for this reason. I basically just fill in any holes with new samples, and everything is helter skelter, but the tool is still extremely useful despite the lack of batch move.

will this also work for the es-1? or is there an easy workaround?

In the version (1.08 I think) that I've recently download I can get Multi select functionality by going to the mono organiser and using left mouse click-hold shift- left mouse click to select a block; or left click & control to individually select files. The files highlight in blue and can be dragged and dropped elswhere in the menu. Selecting individual items and dropping them elsewhere removes any spaces between the files so they all drop in together. The only time consuming thing is scrolling up or down the screen.
When you move files all the pattern addresses change too, so the pattern tracks where each file has moved to.
(I haven't reloaded my re-organised file back onto the esx yet so I assuming this will work when I run the patterns on the ESX)
Files can be renamed in this screen too.
You need to go back to the main screen to listen to the samples.
Remember to save your re-organised files before leaving the mono organiser screen.
I reorganised my whole file system in about 10 minutes using this method.

I assume it works the same with stereo files - see my next post.]

Its a great programme, saves time, makes reorganisation simple.

Stereo Files

Post by Sparker »

I'm loading my esx file into the file organiser but all the files are loading only in the mono side of the main screen.
I know that some of these files are stereo but the programme doesn't seem to recognise them as such.
When I use mono/stereo convert to change one of the mono panel listed files that I know are stereo into the stereo file organiser panel they remain as mono - soundwise.

Any suggestions :?:

Ignore all that. My files are all mono. Doh
