Newbie help: Problems in writing New pattern in EMX-1

Post by Gojoego »

Hi all,

Yes santa was good to me and low and beyhold, i'm the proud owner of the EMX-1. I have began to appreciate the EMX beyond its Aesthetics its capabilities seem immense to me. There's one thing: Whenever i want to write the pattern i have created (simply stopped the pattern and pressed 'WRITE') I am faced with 'PROTECT ERROR' coming up on the display? (note i have tried writing under many differnet pattern numbers e.g.A01, D05, etc) Is this normal? Or am i a moron and am missing something altogether?? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Joe

Yes you are missing something completely. Read the manual. Page 75. Write protect is turned on. You must turn it off.

Press the global button, then the down arrow to get to 'Protect'. Then turn the knob to get to 'off', then the 'write' button, then the 'write' button again. Protect should be turned off, save patterns at will.
