Problems with User Site Login

Post by Howard »

Hi,

I just got an Oasys 88 and have registered the product at Korg.com. They sent me an email confirming my login and password. However, when I go on the Korguser.net ste it tells me my email address or password are incorrect. When I try to have it send me the password it tells me my user information is incorrect so I'm quite stuck. Does anyone know who to contact for assistance in something like this?

Thanks,

Hi Howard,

You need to also register at korguser.net, it's a separate registration process to the one used at korg.com.

Hi Daz,

Thanks for your quick reply. What's so frustrating about this is that I tried to register on the korguser.net site but I go through the whole thing, it asks me for my public ID, etc. then I get a message saying there is a registration error because the license already exists. There seems to be no way to obtain a working login for the site.

I think I know what's going on now. The dealer told me this unit was "new and in the box" but it must have been pre-owned or pre-registered. I should have known something was wrong because the packing material was askew in the box and the unit didn't come with a power cord. I appreciate all your help.

Hi Howard:

Sorry to hear of the confusion - it certainly sounds like it was used in some way, and was registered to authorize some OS updates, or possible even an EXi plug-in.

At any rate, contact support@korgusa.com and we can help to do the transfer - we need to see who registered it currently and take it from there. We'll get this sorted out!

Regards,

Jerry

Howard,

If it turns out the keyboard WAS registered I would contact the dealer and ask for some of your money back. "New and in the box" is not the same as "tried out for 30 days and returned" or "almost new". I hate it when dealers mislead people like this.

Turns out there will be a happy ending to the story. The dealer has agreed to exchange it with one that is truly new and in the box. I'm really looking forward to getting into it and will assuredly be trolling the forum in the future.

Glad to hear it. It is nice when dealers "do the right thing" (or are forced to do the right thing by their customers) :)
