Although I might not agree with his opinion, I believe he does have the right to post his opinion assuming he is being truthful.Kontrol49 wrote:
Asking the guy to upload the Sales Receipt,to prove to you he does or has Bought one c'mon its not a criminal investigation,Does it bother you that Much that he needs to prove anything to you or to any of us??
I thought posting a copy of his receipt would be easy to do and provide proof that his comments weren't a complete fabrication.
This is similar to the method I use if I am suspicious about a bogus eBay sale; I ask the store where purchased and the Serial Number.
Although unlikely, it is possible he is on the level, especially if the Salesman encouraged him to take advantage of the 14 day Guitar Center return policy.

Well, It's a troubling scenario when you can't take the time to read a manual especially when faced with Dyslexia all my life. What may take you only a few minutes to post a message may take me 10 to 15 minutes just so I can proofread my post for any mistakes. Reading...I don't even want to go there. Thank god most templates like this forum provide spell checking as you go.MartinHines wrote:I'm skeptical. I'm returning mine and getting back to my roots with the Motif.
ImageShack works great:

That must have taken you a really long time to learn the Motif. If I recall, the Get Motifated! Volumes 2 and 3 were released about 8 months after the original volume 1.jimmythis wrote: I need what Yamaha did with the original Motif. 3 DVD's that explained the hell outta everything!
It's pretty sad when someone needs a video to learn about a keyboard. Perhaps RTFM would have helped!!!
From which specific GC store did you buy your OASYS? Just FYI, only certain select GC stores are authorized to sell the OASYS.jimmythis wrote: Oh by the way, I was told by Guitar Center they will no longer be carrying the Oasys.
At the time I purchased the Yamaha Motif I was fortunate that Volumes 1,2 and 3 were released just one month prior to my purchase. Man did it save my life. There was nothing but praise in the Yamaha forums for the DVD's mainly because it went way beyond the manual could ever do. Visual aids are a lifesaver for me and after only a few weeks I was enjoying the fruits of my labor and getting right down to the creative process of making music!

It's really just venting that's going on. I am looking forward to the DVD that Mike is putting out. I will help me 10 fold!

Cool. Because of the depth of the OASYS, I wouldn't call this DVD comprehensive, but it is 3 hours long. I'm using 8.5 gig dual layer DVDs, in order to fit it all on one disc. I'm guessing the Yamaha DVDs were about an hour, or so, each?jimmythis wrote:I am looking forward to the DVD that Mike is putting out. I will help me 10 fold!
I figured that to really cover the OASYS, it would take three DVDs, running 6 -9 hours. I plan on making another one that covers Combis and Sequencer in more detail. In case this one tanks, I included some mini demos, so that it touches on most things.
I'm waiting for some feedback, then I'll work on getting these pressed. I may even burn some rough DVD+R copies for those who can't wait any longer, but I would like to get a time estimate from the replicator, first.
Anyway, there is a functioning disc, with very relevant chapter breaks - kind of like a table of contents.
