Sorry, already answered in this Forum:

DC Power Polarity ?

I've lost the power supply for my Wavedrum.

The Wavedrum manual specifies 9-volt DC input, but doesn't say whether the center pin is +, or -.

I have several Korg 9-volt wallwarts, but I dare not experiment.

. . . . HELP !!!!

Thanks --

OOPS -- I had this problem six years ago (!!!!), and found the "fix" -- partial, but it's good enough. I posted it here, too . . . . The original thread: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=92518&sid=56713bdab55d83784ef4aeb7e6c07612 I'm getting too old to keep track of this stuff ...

Missing "Note Off" events -- MicroKorg XL+

I've had my MicroKorg XL+ for several years. It works fine, running its own sounds from its own keyboard. I want to use it to control VST synths. I have an M-Audio "Uno" MIDI-to-USB adapter. I've used that for years, to run Pianoteq on my PC from my Casio PX-350 DP -- no problems at all. When I ...

Volca Drum -- Sound Design for Melodic Tones

An interesting tutorial on creating melodic (that is, pitched) voices with the Volca Drum synth engine:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suObb3e2G8g

Put together by the man who gave us the Volca Drum "synthmata" voice editor.

FWIW (this is very late) -- The WaveDrum is an interesting instrument. However, it has some problems, given what you want to do with it: a) It's _one_ instrument, with a limited number of sounds at any time. It can be programmed to make several sounds, depending on where it's hit (hitting the rim is ...

From the manual: "each part has two identical layers and the waveguide resonator is shared for all parts." Read the manual! Why people don't do that? a) because I was (untypically) lazy; b) because IMHO the "manual" is unusually terse. The block diagram is (unfortunately) accurate: . . . each Part ...

Volca Drum - different Waveguide settings for each Part ?

I could experiment, but it's faster to ask:

. . . On the VD, can I have different Waveguide settings (Decay/ Body/ Tune) for each Part ?

. . . Or do all Parts use the same Waveguide settings ?

The "manual" is just vague enough for me to be hopeful . . .

check Cuckoo on YouTube, he has long and well explained tutorial. I will watch it again, and again . . . . there's a good index. . . . To be honest you should learn what the stuff does and you won't need tutorial anymore That's how I'd learn a new synth -- "from the ground up" -- . . . start with ...

Volca Drum -- tutorials ?

(cross-post from Gearslutz) I just bought a Volca Drum, after watching lots of videos and reading reviews. It seems to make interesting sounds, and there's enough freedom in the sequencer to keep me busy. I own a microKORG XL++, and the manual for that is reasonable, IMHO. Korg's Volca Drum "manual ...

Volca Drum -- different-length loops for different sounds?

A question that I can't figure out from the demos I've seen (and I can't figure out the "user manual" at all): . . . Can I have a 12-step pattern for the bass drum, . . . and a 10-step pattern for the snare, . . . and run them at the same time, repeating ? I'm also looking for a basic demo of what ...

FWIW (this post includes mention of gear I haven't used) -- I've used my Wavedrum with an EV ZXA1 powered monitor, 8" woofer, and it sounds pretty good. That speaker takes AC power, and a lot of it. I suspect that anything less than an 8" woofer isn't going to do well with the WD's low-pitched drum ...

I've modified the "Rhubarb" patch (a plucked-string sound) so that the volume, and filter cutoff, are both velocity-sensitive, and the "delay" mix is 0%:

. . . It's not a bad koto substitute, like that.

This is going to be fun! Thank you.

Oops - I put this post in the wrong thread -- it belongs here . . . . After a day with Psalm37's patches loaded onto my MicroKorg XL+ (yes, they work fine!): The bass patches (both mono and polyphonic), alone, are worth the price of admission. The pads are rich, complex -- very nice. I'm still ...

Thank you!

Interesting that the XL and XL+ have identical engines (I assume that's true, if the patches are interchangeable).

I'll have to check out the sounds on the XL sometime . . .
