"File Unavailable"

The motherboard in my Krome EX was just replaced and, with one exception, it appears to be working fine. The exception is when I try to load a PCG file from an SD card. I can see all of the PCG and SNG files saved on the card, but when I highlight one and hit LOAD, I get the error message "File ...

As it turns out, I spoke too soon. While it is true that the EX will load the Combis from stored pgc files from an original Krome, the EX does not load the correct Programs into the Combis. As far as I can figure out, for all practical purposes, with the exception I mentioned earlier in this thread ...

FYI: My experience is that files saved on an SD card from the original Krome can be loaded into Krome EX. Once I did that and saved the PGC that had the original Krome patches added, the original Krome no longer recognized the SD card.

Krome EX compatibility with original Krome - SD Card Upload

I'm using an original Krome in one location and a Krome EX in another.

I had no problem loading User Combinations from the original into the EX.

Is it safe to Load all PCG saved from a Krome EX into a Krome original?

Note information not coming through midi

I've used my Krome keyboard as a secondary sound source in my rig (sometimes play it directly, but most often use it to bring in strings, horns, etc. during songs. It konked out and I replaced it with an EX. The EX is receiving patch change signals, but it is not responding to note information. How ...

Power Adapter

The power adapter that came with the Krome EX is a bit different from the original Krome (everything is the same except that the EX version puts out only 2.5 amps instead of the old version putting out 3.5 amps.

Can the original power supply be used with Krome EX?

Krome EX compatibility with original Krome

I've had a Krome for a long time and have done extensive Combi programming, which I have stored in bank D.

1. Will all my Combis work seamlessly with Krome EX?

2. Are the new Combis in Krome EX stored in bank D?

I'm not where I can get to my equipment at the moment, but I do use a lot of effects and I trust that is the culprit in this case.

Is there a workaround. For example, are there some reverbs and delays that do not bleed?

Left/Right separation not working as expected

I've got both an M-50 and a Krome and the same happens on both. For gigging I want to have the drum patch in the right output and everything else on the left output. So I have tried going into the mixer and panning the drums to R127, and everything else to L001. Despite these settings, the non-drum ...

voip, I sure appreciate you taking a shot at it. I tried adjusting every parameter in the OSC/Pitch windows and did not achieve a change in the tremolo speed. Page 320 of the parameter guide is talking about a tremolo effect. None of the IFXs or the MFXs or the TFX effects are set to tremolo on this ...

Mandolin Tremolo Speed

Program C66 is a nice tremolo Mandolin, but I need to speed up the frequency of the tremolo.

Anyone have any suggestion as to how to do that?

The M-50 is very effective at controlling patches on other devices. Each device must have a unique global midi channel. For example, if your M50 Gch is 1, set the Gch of the Ensoniq to 2, set the Gch of the Korg X5DR to 2, etc. You must connect the midi out of the M50 to the midi ins of each of the ...

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked it out with a stand alone M-50 and it worked fine (if there is a delay, I couldn't detect it). Looking forward to wiring my whole system with this application. Should I expect 20 ms or so delay with every device the signal goes through? My Midi pat from the M-50 ...

OK. Thanks. I didn't want to try it before I knew I wouldn't fry it.
