So far I have only ever used my SM card as a back up in case my unit shall ever fail me entirely (or more likely I kill it while attempting to repair it) so I have not invested in any card readers mainly because I figured there might be an easier conversion method out there but after this full day ...

Sounds promising, I have all my patterns stored on a SM card I just need to find a way to convert them to an SD card.

Not Sure if I got you right on this but you say SM patterns on an SD card? Where did this come from? That could be a good lead on converting SM to SD

I have the baking paper in there and it worked for the shortages but I still suffer minor "knob jitter" but its not all crazy like the shortages between the boards was.
