Sorry, but you can only use *Programs* for the tracks in a sequence, not *Combis*. While I can't find anyplace where it's specifically stated, the microSTATION Operation Guide has various lines where it implies this. For example, on page 33: "The display will show a screen where you can select the ...

Ah! I get it! When you mentioned "Stereo" that helped me understand... The Stereo pedal you have *really is* a volume pedal. It takes an audio signal for input, changes the volume according to the pedal position, and then outputs the the result as an audio signal. So a mono pedal would have two ...

Controllers>Pedal/SW> Type:Pedal PDL:Master Vol I tried that settings, but don't work with my volume pedal.I'd connect sustain pedal, when i push to pedal ; Sound mute Wait a minute -- I'm confused. You said you connected a "sustain pedal" which is just an on-off switch, right? Well then, I'd expect ...

Did you ever get your pedal sorted out? I normally use a damper pedal for sustain on my microStation, but just for grins I tried setting up a Yamaha expression pedal and got it working without any trouble: From the Globals menu: Controllers>Pedal/SW> Type:Pedal PDL:Master Vol This sounds pretty much ...

[oops: edited to refer to the right Driver file ] That's odd -- I've had no problems running under WindowsXP with my microStation, so it isn't XP. Did you load the latest driver PC:Driver:USA_Korg USB-MIDI Driver 1.1.4(r4) (Win).zip available at: http://www.korg.com/uploads/Download/USA_Korg%20USB ...

Man, how did I miss that? Thanks, Brad. And you didn't even say "use the search feature"

So, has anyone picked up a battery pack like this for their microStation? How long does the battery last on a charge?

Battery pack for microStation?

This question was prompted by a side-issue in another thread.. One of the great features of the microStation is its portability, and yet it doesn't allow battery operation. Is there anyone out there that's discovered a third-party solution? Maybe like a battery pack where you can insert a bunch of C ...

Cool. How do you power the microStation when you're out on the streets? I have to admit that one of it's serious limitations as a portable unit was lack of battery support, but seeing as it takes a 1.7 amp power supply, it would probably burn through batteries pretty quick.

Mahalo, actually that sustain on the upper notes of the piano patch are part of its programming. It's meant to duplicate the behavior of a real piano, which doesn't have dampers on the upper strings. Try playing those upper notes on a real piano and you'll see it behaves the same way. Regards, Bill.

I was having a similar problem with my microStation, and determined there's an inconsistency with the version of the preload.pcg file available on-line from Korg. For details check out the thread:

Yes, it looks like that thread was experiencing the same problem (the OP mentions that he had just reloaded the factory programs). Granted, you can "fix" it by tweaking the associated parameters, but the root cause appears to be an inconsistency in the on-line version of the preload.pcg file ...

It should just work. I've connected my microStation to a Yamaha Motif8 using a midi cable as suggested by lostchild (midi out of Motif8 to the midi in of the microStation) and it just worked (out-of-box configurations on both keyboards). If it doesn't, *then* you'll have to dig into the manuals to ...

On-line preload.pcg causes problems with OS v 1.0.1

Hey guys, I've been playing around with my recently purchased microStation and having a blast. What a great little machine for taking on the road! I know it hasn't been a big seller for Korg here in the States, but I hope they'll continue the "Workstation with Minikeys" concept (how about a ...

Hey Otter, I noticed while scanning the forum that you've had your problems dealing with the software editor. Is that why you set the MS aside last winter  . Seriously, I haven't yet gotten around to using the editor (too busy playing around with the on-board patches and combis). Any words of ...

Yeah, it's an awesome little machine. I just bought one over the weekend -- had been looking for a small keyboard I could take on travel and it seems ideal. At first I wasn't sure about those minikeys, but after playing it for a while in the store, I was surprised by how expressive you could play ...
