I love my Kronos1 ( 11 1/2 years old ) so much that I found a 3 yr old Kronos 2 on Reverb.com. Now using that one. I love the SEQ - especially after looking
at the one on the new Roland Fantoms, which is very limited.

It sounds like you're trying to load a backing track.

Watch Qui Robinez's tutorial on this ... every time I want to load a BT I watch it. There's a very specific way of doing it.

To improve the Kronos performance, special the old Kronos, I also have one, set the non useful tracks (timbre) status to off. Mute is not enough. Dan - This worked, thank you for a great suggestion. switched to OFF the COMBI & SEQ programs I wasn't using. I couldn't find the level vu meter in ...

Nothing has changed & there's still 1 GB of space, so I think you're right Tunaman, & voip nailed it. I'm about to order the necessary tools to perform the "open heart sugery", but I have a question Tunaman - can I use GParted with my Windows 11 computer?? it says compatible with up to Windows 10.

Thanks for reply Voip. No MIDI connected. I like your last suggestion, very interesting - I would've never thought of that. May try it. Tunaman had a post awhile back about how he replaced his SSD - the link is below - would a failing SSD cause increased voice stealing? Anyone? http://www.korgforums ...

Voice Stealing suddenly got much worse

My 1st gen Kronos 73, 11 and a half years old, was sailing along (although on it's 3rd P/S) and last week the voice stealing suddenly took a turn for the worse. Saturday nite's gig was rough, I had to keep muting alot of the program slots in combi mode. And in SEQ mode it wouldn't let me play with ...

It's interesting to read the comments in the thread because I didn't think there were too many fans of the K sequencer like I am. I've recorded about 175 songs on the SEQ & use them along with Combis on all my gigs. I have a Kronos 1st gen 73, about 11 years old. If I want to add vocals to my ...

Thanks Pete, I'll check out the videos. That's encouraging. I may still need to consider a Fantom 8.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply, yes you answered my question on the Kronos forum.. I've just replaced my power supply on my K for the third time, and I'm using my Kronos right now to record Nelson Riddle's arrangement of I've Got You Under My Skin (as Frank recorded it), so for the time being ...

Thanks again for your reply Dave .

Can't record drum tracks? Wow, that might be the "deal breaker".

Maybe the sequencer isn't what the Kronos's is because they're gonna come out with their new flagship workstation? Which will have a great sequencer.

I can hope.

From 1st Gen. Kronos to Pa5x?

Dear Pa5x users - Is there anyone out there that had a Kronos before you got your Pa5x? I'm interested in how the Sequencers compare. I've recorded hundreds of MIDI tracks on my 1st generation Kronos on its sequencer, but lately the Power Supply has quit. I've replaced it twice, but it keeps ...

Thanks for the great reply, Dave .. The built in sequencer in the 5x isn't there yet - yes, you can create MIDI files, but you are doing it one track at a time currently, overwriting and overdubbing when needed. I think this will get better with OS updates, but for now - while there is a 16 track ...

From 1st Gen. Kronos to Pa5x?

I have a 10 year-old 1st Generation Kronos that I love and have used to record hundreds of MIDI songs that I can play with on gigs - but the catch is, the Power Supply keeps quitting. I replaced the P/S twice and twice it quit. Don't know why. Something must be causing it to quit. So, I've been ...

NAMM is coming up in 3-and-a-half weeks.

Is it possible that Korg is coming out with a successor to the Kronos at NAMM & Sweetwater has decided they'd better clean out their inventory of K2s now before the announcement?
