Whichever needs less precise work should be by logic put one the left side (for a right-handed person). Since I'm playing a bit of keyboards, and I'm quite poor with it, I leave all the clumsiness for the Kaoss Pad, since I only push buttons here and now and do a quick sweep with one finger over the ...

Yes, but the "only" downside to Octatrack is the price, for which you can buy three or four KP3s... :(

But I also think it's very interesting, probably the best thing you can get now for sampling and looping.

I remember (before actually buying KP3) I visited this section many times and read as much as I could - and it stuck in my mind that KPRO cuts down from 16 to 8 beats on a higher BPM "threshold" (let's call it that way for now). Maybe the difference isn't exactly double, but KP3 definitely has a ...

Re: Is KP3/KPRO the only/best product for live sync looping.

That's what I thought (and still do), but this got me confused: The beauty of the KPRO is that is does sound on sound looping, and it syncs well to an external midi clock, and its all real time for live performance. But, at slower tempos (say 90 to 100 BPM), its just way too short, limited to only 4 ...

I am a little bit late to the party, but I just need to clear out something... in the beginning of this thread people kept saying that KP3 can loop 8 bars. This got me pretty confused, since I have been using it for the past 6 months or so and I was pretty sure it cannot do that - it's limited to 4 ...

I'm loving this, funny to say it this way, but being so effortlessly retro - it sounds really refreshing :)

Thanks a lot, Bill!

It seems to work fine at a first glance, though I've actually ran into it listed somewhere but didn't think it would run on XP. I'm pleasantly surprised it does!

Fantastic, thanks again!

Organizing presets for X3(R)

I've recently acquired an old Korg X3R (rack version of your standard X3) and found a few great preset collections. One of those collections I've managed to transfer to the module as a sysex file using MIDIOX. When I started to browse through bunch of new sounds which had filled almost every one of ...

Future-retro Korg user

Hello everyone, Before I say anything else, first let me thank this community for a lot of info that I found before I got my first Korg unit ( KP3 ). Literally from today I am also owner of a good old X3R and I am sure we'll have something to talk about. Hoping to contribute as much as I can! :wink ...
