I made up the Y cable and I still get the power fault with no successful operation on the iPad. If someone has it working, post the details. If using a powered hub, which one? With the new 4.x OS Apple restricted Vbus sourcing to 20mA max. With the older OS you had 100mA. So an isolated Vbus 5V source or powered hub will be necessary to power the MS20 or whatever you intend to connect.
