Excellent! Play drums, real time, and have it record, and keep playing back. Take a piano sample, into keyboard mode, and play a line, real time, and record it. Then take a violin sample, into keyboard mode, and play a line, real time, and record it onto of the rest? And build like that. That is ...

The MS stores the samples into keys on the keyboard. Because of this, there are modes of playing them back. MS has two modes: 1) Keyboard mode With a knob, you can select the sample you want to play as a keyboard. Like keyboard mapping. e.g. much like choosing a piano, guitar etc sound on a Yamaha ...

Re: MicroSampler or ?
I want a keyboard I can load drum sounds into, and play, real time, and loop/record to overdub everything. And be able to load in string samples and bass samples, and play them chromatically on the keys. And again, record them, and add them to the loop. That can be done using the pattern sequencer ...

If you're intending to import the samples from the MS-1 into Logic, you need to use the MS-1 editor/librarian software to download the sample files into your computer. Alternatively, you can use the USB to connect to the computer (you need the KORG USB driver though) or MIDI, via a MIDI interface to ...

Come to think about it, a sampler is a recorder. The recorder can only record 2 minutes total time per bank, so it is mainly useful for riffs and loops. When recording audio (not pattern), there is no metronome provided, so the workaround is to record a metronome loop (or drum loop) and play over it ...

Here are a few things that may contribute to your quantize problem: 1)For keyboard playing: Setting the improper quantize setting. Wrong setting 8th note quantization if you are recording 16th note patterns. Happens to me sometimes. (Oh! If you're playing swing, might need to set a quantize setting ...

Sorry I did not have time to read everything, so I just quote a feature that I would really really like to have: I think another feature we can ask for would be region looping (where we can set loop start and loop end within a sample, apart from the sample's start/end point settings) with differing ...

Oh now I understand what you mean! Yeah, when I first got the MS, I tried doing a infinite-breath "Oooh" sample using just the MS (no editor), and I find it hard to set the correct start and end to ensure there's no pop/click. I can do it with the AKAI, or I have not the patience to set the start ...

I guess that's because release is only for a note off. The best workaround is to just program the note in the sequencer, since technically, the sequencer is like a pseudo-looper. Unless you're talking about the Decay? I've not tried it yet, but decay is only triggered after a note-on. Which suddenly ...

Is there anyway to quantitize the live input (of you hitting the keys) to the nearest note value? (I know it can do this for pattern recording, but...)) How can a machine anticipate you are going to be late on your stroke and then shuffle it forward to the correct spot? I know there seem to many ...

How's your setup and signal flow like? I assume your Foot Controller is connected into MIDI IN of the MS, and you like to sample in key gate, but using the Foot Controller? (And then later you can use the foot controller to play the samples) The MS only receives note 48-84, so try making sure that ...

Re: truelly protable
anyone tried batteries.. i did , 4 fully charged 2100 and two duracel of which i am not sure bout the power.. general tip - don't use batteries of different brand or charge level! It sometimes works, but sometimes causes trouble. Agreed. The batteries that have less charge die out first and ...
