it means you've used up all your sampling time for that bank, which unfortunately isn't difficult to accomplish. to free up space for recording new samples now you must delete some existing ones. you'll get more recording time with lower fidelity sampling settings (24k usually sounds ok enough) and ...

yeah i know what you mean, KP3 is much easier to work with, but since it starts recording the instant you press the sampling button kinda hard to capture anything played on a guitar or otherwise involving two hands. considering the MS can be set up to start recording at a specific point in the loop ...

might save a lot of time to generally consult the user manual first and foremost, since it contains a wealth of useful information including the answer to your question. (sample used for keyboard mode needs to have the loop button unlit so it acts like a one-shot sample, then you set the sample ...

actually there IS a global effects setting. if we simultaneously press the enter/shift and the fx/sw buttons we can turn effects on / off globally for the entire keyboard, depending on the state of the current sample (detailed on page 64 of the manual under "shift functions"). if the fx/sw button is ...

since there seems to be some interest in this mod and the complimentary looping technique required to turn the MC into a wicked looper, went ahead and made a tutorial type video to show you guys how it all goes down: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guJR-WxaTSY as mentioned in the video description ...

sorry for delayed response, been away from this forum for a while. so far as why i wanted footswitch control: great thing if you're recording guitar / bass / synth samples and need both hands to play the instrument in question. so far as auto-looping, yes the microsampler will auto-loop IF you take ...

yes, it does all that.

each bank contains about 160 seconds of sampling time at 48 kHz, longer if you set the fidelity to 24 kHz or lower. a sample can be as long as the amount of available memory remaining.

if you pick one up be sure to enjoy :)

SUPER-HARDWARE SOLUTION

alrighty, so i decided to give the solution suggested by gmeredith a try, WORKED BEAUTIFULLY, and was relatively easy to do. if you're willing to open up the case and do some very minor soldering / drilling you too can install a footswitch jack directly into the back panel of the MS and forever ...

LOOPER / AUTO-LOOP tips + tricks

hello all, i've come across mini-discussions regarding MS looper functionality workarounds in other threads, but since there's no thread specifically dedicated to such methods thought it might be useful to share tips and inform anyone yet to realize these hidden potentials. several of you have ...

works in both auto and internal. took a moment to try it out with the KP3 by opening the KP3 editor software and assigning the sample A button external control to CC#6, transmitted the assignment to the pad, plugged the FC into the KP3, depressed the footswitch, no result. very possible i didn't do ...

wow that's an even more direct, lightweight way, nice tip!
hadn't even considered it having never yet myself done such a mod, but sounds like a great way to go if you know what you're doing.

this is an old thread, but thought i'd contribute another solution in case anyone searches in the future. if you want to process external audio through the R3s effects, filters, EQs, ect. without constantly holding down keys, all you have to do is : scroll to the very last edit page [Pedal/SW] and ...
