Yeah, You can't resample patterns on the 404. I'm not an expert on terminology or timeline of features being introduced, but seems to me like resampling patterns would have been introduced after resampling pads with fx etc? Meaning that the 404 does do real resampling, but doesn't resample patterns ...

Yeah, the 404 is lame/no-go for overdubbing. 555 is better. But both do 'real' resampling, which is what was being discussed. I admit the microsampler is cool/fun/quick for typical sampling and resampling, except for memory limits and bank loading/switching. I just hate the keyboard mode and some ...

I know what you're saying, and I agree in places. I just wanted a couple of updates to make it function well live in the way that it was obviously intended to. If they'd just made it so you could hold the 'keyboard' mode button and hit the key for the sample you want to spread, it would have been a ...

Also, I maybe wasnt clear in the original post. But akai synthstation is a battery or mains powered midi two octave keyboard that you dock your iPhone in. Buy the nanostudio app for your phone and Voilà, 8+gb of sample memory, decent 5 track sequencer, decent field recorder, decent polyphonic synth, ...

Kilon, I can see you're chuffed with your microsampler and that it does what you need it to. That's cool, I'm glad some people are happy with it. But for me it doesn't work in a live situation. Which is what I bought it for. I can resample endlessly (and with live looping/overdubbing to separate ...

Griffinavid, I totally agree with you on all points. Kilon, resampling is no big deal...I agree that it's super important in designing sound and stumbling upon loops you hadn't even imagined. I'm a big animal collective/panda bear fan, so believe me, I like to 'resample'. But it's not a new feature ...

I know the ms has some good points. Of all my samplers it's by far the easiest to just plug YouTube in to and bang through some abstract videos, use key-gate mode and stumble upon some really cool juxtapositions of sounds. But you run out of memory real quick doing that and forever going back to the ...

After waiting a year for a firmware update it seems obvious it's not happening. Just some poxy sample banks. I make my own samples so these are useless to me, and not what I bought the machine for. I just got the akai synthsation for Xmas. Now I'm using it with nanostudio on my iPhone 4 and all of a ...

You can sample off anything that makes noise. Either via a microphone or line connection. Depending on the Machine you mention, you'll probably need either a jack lead, stereo jack lead, or stereo RCA phonograph to stereo jack. Check your connections, read the specs on the korg site. You could have ...

You both make valid points, but I side with the 'an update is really very little to ask' opinion. Even if they just made it so I could hold down the 'keyboard' button whilst hitting a key to select which sample to spread across the keys. It would be something.... I just saw that the IMS-20 is out on ...

Is this new? I downloaded a bonus samples pack off korg last week (pack including 'vintage keys' etc.). Pretty dull/shoddy. A lot of the instruments were poorly looped with clicks or audible loop points. To be honest. Does anyone even care or want these petty offerings from korg? The fun in sampling ...
