i was about to try this at the weekend mate. I'll ley you know if i have any joy.

cant import anything to it as there is no power in the unit when switched on. Just about got enough money spare to buy a new one now though

no joy unfortunately. I have tried various button combo's, but in the end if there's no firmware on it then its not gonna know what to do anyway.

i'll give it a shot when i'm home.

Phoned korg today. Turns out it will cost me ~£200 to fix the KP3!! £200!!!! So for £100 more i can get a brand new one. Is it just me or does it seem ridiculous to anyone else that, if your computer crashes during the upgrade process it kills the hardware?! Resulting in a mammoth bill, equivalent to ...

Went to update my KP3 to v.2 and my computer froze then restarted!

now my kp wont turn on. Is this somehow recoverable or is it a send-to-Korg job?

you just need some see-through coloured plastic. cut to shape and slot it in. there will be minimal heat coming from those types of diodes so it should be all good

like it - i reckon they look better like that as well!
